"As a long time US football (yes, football) fan, I could not be happier today. I had not watched any of the games because of the hateful see you next Tuesday’s attitude during the national anthem. However, Jason Whitlock convinced me to “hate watch” and root for Sweden. I am so glad I did. It was so rewarding. Best part, as Sweden celebrated, they played Abba in the stadium!"

U.S. goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher fruitlessly argued she had saved Hurtig's attempt, but it was ruled over the line by VAR. The stadium played Abba's “Dancing Queen” in the stadium as the Swedes celebrated and the U.S. players sobbed.
