The baseline organization of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and some 30 other elected officials is as socialist as such groups get.

The Democratic Socialists of America are in a “financial crisis” that will require seven-figure budget cuts and staff layoffs to correct.

News of the DSA’s financial condition surfaced as the group leads anti-Israel protests nationwide; including a pro-Hamas rally held in New York just one day after Hamas’s October 7 massacre. . . .

So can we not conclude the anti Israel demonstrations do not reflect public opinion but are instead astroturf, not grassroots? TD

"The bloodshed and budding war in Israel are shining a brighter spotlight on tensions between the often younger, left-leaning DSA-backed politicians and their mainstream Democratic colleagues."  The Antifa age group, as it were.

(mosaicmagazine.com)   . . ."The DSA’s turn to vitriolic opposition to Israel began at its annual convention in August 2017—just a year after the Sanders campaign had breathed new life into the organization. There BDS activists introduced a resolution that the DSA should declare itself “in solidarity with Palestinian civil society’s nonviolent struggle against apartheid, colonialism, [and] military occupation and for equality, human rights, and self-determination.” To achieve that goal, the resolution stated that the DSA should proclaim itself as “fully supporting BDS.” There was no mention of the right of Israelis to have a Jewish state, or even of a two-state solution."  This from those who wanted to defund the police and burned Americas cities. Would there be even perfunctory condemnation of Hamas’s methods?. . .Not that I heard. What I saw was giddiness and gloating, as if someone’s team had won the World Cup. Hamas had perpetrated the largest single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, and the crowd was euphoric.
