Bob Maistros, I&I . . ."But did the prestidigitator in chief have a card up his sleeve the whole time to turn not just the narrative but the entire world back on its head? Let’s run down the immediate effects of the president’s solo sortie:
"The vaunted two-state solution, official U.S. policy for decades, is dead. Spell it out. D-E-A-D. Expired. Extinct. Extinguished.
"Terrorists and the civilians who gleefully participated won’t be rewarded for despicable acts of butchery and sodomy with their own separate nation – and the opportunity to build even more deadly and impregnable bases for land, air and sea assaults to eliminate Israel. They won’t even be able to occupy one of the territories, at least not in sufficient strength to threaten the Jewish state.
"Oh. You gave credence to Trump’s concession that relocation of the blood-lusting Gazan population could be “permanent” or “temporary?” Dream on. Once that existential threat is removed, they ain’t coming back. The Jewish state’s brain trust has absorbed that lesson.
"Israel finally gets its blank check to finish the war. Accompanying the diplomatic initiative was an announcement that America would reverse Joe Biden’s ban on shipping 600-pound bombs that blast through Hamas fortifications. The unmistakable message: If Hamas doesn’t sue for peace, war will resume, this time with full American backing and gloves off.
"Hamas is finished. And the Palestinian Authority on notice. Any Palestinian relocation – and it’s unlikely to be to Jordan with its own long memories of the Black September uprising – will include U.S. guarantees to exclude Hamas. And the PA had better figure out soon that if it doesn’t clean up its corruption, repression and terror sponsorship, it’s next." . . .
The two-state solution map that promised to solve Middle East crisis Until Oct 7, 2023:
. . ."Iran is more isolated than ever. Which follows from all of the above, along with Israel’s demonstration last year that it can easily penetrate deep into the mullah’s defenses. Readers may believe that Trump’s statements are a YUGE, freelance bluff. But note what didn’t happen in response. No spontaneous riots or demonstrations on the “Arab Street.” No resolutions of condemnation in the United Nations. No protests from Arab capitals other than the nations directly involved. The same things that didn’t happen when 45, after decades of warnings of backlash, finally moved ahead with the longtime promise to relocate America’s embassy in Israel to Jerusalem." . . .
WHERE on this map do you see peace and security for the Israeli nation?
