. . . "Authorities believe they recovered the gun used to assassinate Kirk:
"FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls made the announcement during a Thursday morning press conference at Utah Valley University.
"The weapon “is a high powered bolt action rifle. That rifle was recovered in a wooded area where the shooter had fled. So the FBI laboratory will be analyzing this weapon. Investigators have also collected footwear, the impression of a palm print and forearm imprints for analysis,” Bohls said.
“ 'We are not sure how far he has gone,” Bohls added about the assassin.
"Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason confirmed that the shooter appeared to be “of college age,” but he declined to offer more identifying details.
"Mason said footage from the campus showed the shooter climbed to the roof of a building overlooking Kirk’s event. He then jumped from the building and fled to a nearby neighborhood after the shooting.
"The FBI has footage of him. The agents believe they can identify him.
"The suspect jumped off a building and fled after shooting Kirk.
Law enforcement update: – FBI has "good" surveillance images of Charlie Kirk assassin but won't release them right now.
– Person was tracked jumping off the building and fleeing into a neighborhood.
