"Authorities held a press conference on Thursday morning, during which they revealed that they have been able to track the movements of the shooter leading up to and after the shooting.

"Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason said starting from 11:52 am, authorities have been able to track the shooter’s movement "onto the campus, through the stairwells up to the roof, across the roof to a shooting location."

"After the shooting, we were able to track his movements as he moved to the other side of the building, jumped off the building and fled off of the campus into a neighborhood," Mason continued. He said that authorities have contacted people in those neighborhoods nearby for their doorbell camera footage.

"Mason said that authorities "do have good video footage of this individual. We are not going to release that at this time. We’re working through some technologies and some ways to identify this individual. If we are unsuccessful, we will reach out to you as the media, and we will push that publicly to help us identify them. But we’re confident in our abilities right now."

. . . "FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls said that the weapon believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered in a wooded area where the shooter had fled. The weapon was a high-powered bolt-action rifle. Authorities have also collected a footwear impression, a palm print, and forearm imprints for analysis.
