Monica Showalter - American Thinker "The press and the USOC may be to blame, but who wants to watch this?
"It's just a shame we see so much of this, Trump derangement syndrome metastasizing into loathing for America. To heck with this, I'll flip the channel."
"If the aim of the U.S. Olympic team was to make its millions-strong television audience flip the channel, they couldn’t have done a better job than with today’s big slew of athletes coming out with wokester statements, รก la Colin Kaepernick.
"It’s so against common sense and so ‘old’ as an act it makes one wonder if they themselves believed they were all washed up, as Kaepernick had been, when he started his take-a-knee shenanigans that did a lot of damage to professional football.
"The first wokester statement came from someone named Chris Lillis, a freestyle skiier who didn't hesitate to dump on his own country on the international stage:
"According to CBS News
"...I feel heartbroken about what's happened in the United States," Team USA freestyle skier Chris Lillis told journalists on Friday in response to questions referencing ICE's actions in Minneapolis and the protests against them.
"I think that as a country, we need to focus on respecting everybody's rights and making sure that we're treating our citizens as well as anybody with love and respect," Lillis said. "And I hope that when people look at athletes competing in the Olympics, they realise that that's the America that we're trying to represent."
"The next wokester was Hunter Hess, another freestyle skier.
"According to the Washington Post:
“It brings up mixed emotions to represent the U.S. right now, I think,” Hess said. “It’s a little hard. There’s obviously a lot going on that I’m not the biggest fan of, and I think a lot of people aren’t.”
