Congressional Democrats responded to calls for Swalwell to resign by moving to expel Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas), who’s currently being investigated by the Ethics Committee for sexual misconduct allegations, Axios reported.
"Rep. Luna declared on X that both congressmen “are a disgrace.”
“This is the last chance for corrupt members of Congress to resign and keep some sliver of personal dignity. It is better to resign that to be expelled… but if THEY do NOT decide to do the right thing, we WILL vote to expel them,” she wrote. “@RepSwalwell @RepTonyGonzales, NO one will protect you for what you have done. Resign NOW or face expulsion by your colleagues, party, and country.”
