It is worth pausing for a moment to consider why it was this particular event that aggravated the ordinary chap in the street. I think it’s less the specifically Islamic aspect of the event, rather the in-your-face-nature of it all. It seems that those seeking to make Islam ‘mainstream’ and ‘nothing to be frightened of’ and ‘just another way of being’ are making the same mistake as the extreme end of the trans lobby: forcing it down our throats.
