"First Lady Melania Trump made the unusual move Thursday afternoon to make public comments about a matter affecting her and her family. Appearing at a podium somewhere within the White House – and with a serious expression and somber, yet steely, tone – Melania excoriated individuals and organizations who have tried to "defame" her by linking her with the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
"The First Lady emphasized that she and her attorneys have not – and will not – back down from holding those spreading "unfounded and baseless lies" about her legally responsible. And she named names. "To date," she revealed, "several individuals and companies have been legally obligated to publicly apologize and retract their lies about me, such as Daily Beast, James Carville, and Harper Collins UK."
"She also called on Congress to hold public hearings so that Epstein's victims can go on record with their sworn testimonies, concluding, "Then, and only then, will we have the truth."
