Mike Ramirez on Memorial Day, 2015; a tribute from the Tunnel Wall

"Taliban ambushed US troops near Bagram killing 6 soldiers and wounding many.-Taliban Sources"

OUR FALLEN SOLDIERS TRIBUTE

Tides of War

"On Wednesday, Barack Obama spoke at the commencement of the US Coast Guard Academy to make the graduates aware of the crucial role they'll be playing in his War On Weather.

"Specifically, he declared that "climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security - an immediate risk to our national security. And make no mistake, it will impact how our military defends our country. So we need to act and we need to act now."

"As if this wasn't enough to get the graduating class glancing nervously at the skies, Obama said that failure to embrace liberal climate change orthodoxy amounted to negligence and dereliction of duty. He then linked the raping, murdering, kidnapping, slave-trading activities of pretty much every terrorist organization to the alleged reduction in the world's precious permafrost. Put another way, he's less concerned with ISIS at our doors than ices at our poles..."

Mike Huckabee supports Josh Duggar; UPDATE: left's schadenfreude

We know the family is supportive of Josh and one prays especially that they have done much to heal those whom he molested.  TD

TPM   "The liberal TPM refers to the Duggar family as "ultra  conservative".
 Ldc8il8f3z0m1e7bbzmz

"Josh’s actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, 'inexcusable,' but that doesn’t mean 'unforgivable,'" Huckabee wrote in a Facebook post. "He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story."

UPDATE: Josh Duggar and the left's schadenfreude
. . . " Not surprisingly, the liberal media are having a field day with this story.  Remember: if you’re outspokenly conservative and desire to be in the public eye, you’d better be squeaky-clean.  The left will still despise you, but at least they can’t ruin you.

"Former Arkansas governor and presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee released the following statement in support of the Duggars.  It’s quite good." . . .

Read more: However this author has a friend who is totally dissatisfied with the Duggar apology.

"However, Catholic author and speaker Dawn Eden (in the interest of full disclosure, Dawn is a friend of mine) – who’s no liberal – is critical of the Duggars’ statement to the media. She wrote:. . . "

You want hypotheticals? Here’s one: Knowing what we know now, was abandoning Iraq in 2011 the right thing to do?

George W. Bush was right about Iraq pullout
"At a White House news conference on July 12, 2007, Bush declared: “I know some in Washington would like us to start leaving Iraq now. To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we’re ready would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region and for the United States. It would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to al-Qaeda. It would mean that we’d be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It would mean we’d allow the terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan. It would mean we’d be increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous.”
"He had no idea at the time how prophetic his words would be." . . .

Now, on to the article by Mr. Krauthammer.   (Cartoon added by TD)

Displaced Iraqis from Ramadi cross the Bzebiz bridge near Baghdad while fleeing fighting.
"Ramadi falls. The Iraqi army flees. The great 60-nation anti-Islamic State coalition so grandly proclaimed by the Obama administration is nowhere to be seen. Instead, it’s the defense minister of Iran who flies into Baghdad, an unsubtle demonstration of who’s in charge — while the U.S. air campaign proves futile and America’s alleged strategy for combating the Islamic State is in freefall.

"It gets worse. The Gulf states’ top leaders, betrayed and bitter, ostentatiously boycott President Obama’s failed Camp David summit. “We were America’s best friend in the Arab world for 50 years,” laments Saudi Arabia’s former intelligence chief.

Political Cartoons by Nate Beeler
Note: “were,” not “are.”

"We are scraping bottom. Following six years of President Obama’s steady and determined withdrawal from the Middle East, America’s standing in the region has collapsed. And yet the question incessantly asked of the various presidential candidates is not about that. It’s a retrospective hypothetical: Would you have invaded Iraq in 2003 if you had known then what we know now?

"First, the question is not just a hypothetical but an inherently impossible hypothetical." . . .

Democrats, are you SURE you want this woman as our president?

Political Cartoons by Gary Varvel

Another reason why Hillary Clinton does not deserve to be president . . .  What sensitive but unclassified information did Hillary have in her private account? According to the Times, “that information included the whereabouts and travel plans of American officials in Libya as security there deteriorated during the uprising against the leadership of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi in 2011.' ” . .

..Political Cartoons by Lisa Benson

How Bad Spin Works: A Handy Lesson from the Clinton/Blumenthal E-Mails   . . . " The running theme of Blumenthal's missives to his "old friend," the Democratic frontrunner, is that Blumenthal is a gusher of terrible advice. The revelation of these emails is that even terrible advice could pay off, if the media was willing to accept a narrative that made the Clintons' enemies look malicious." . . ....
Political Cartoons by Nate Beeler

Clinton 'sex victim' goes full frontal on Hillary "Kathleen Willey, the former volunteer aide to Bill Clinton who claims the president sexually assaulted her in the White House in 1993, went on national television Tuesday night to escalate her new battle against former First Lady Hillary Clinton, considered by many to be the leading candidate for the Democratic nomination for the Oval Office in 2016.

“ 'I think she needs to be exposed for all the terror campaigns she has raised against women who were at the wrong place at the wrong time with her husband,” Willey told Megyn Kelly of Fox News." . . .
. . .
"Willey told Kelly that, “Hillary Clinton is the war on women,” because of her attacks on women with whom her husband has dallied.

“"She enables him,” Willey said. “She realizes the power he has.' ” . . .

Bill Passed: Texas Highway to be Named in Honor of ‘American Sniper’ Chris Kyle
. . . "The Texas Senate passed House Bill 1187 designating a segment of U.S. Hwy 287 in Midlothian, as the Chris Kyle Memorial Highway." . . .

While Obama was quick to host alleged deserter Bowe Bergdahl’s parents at a Rose Garden ceremony that celebrated his release in a highly controversial prisoner swap, he couldn’t even pick up a phone and spend two minutes of his time to offer his condolences to the wife of a real American hero.

Funeral procession for Chris Kyle in Midlothian, Texas.

The family handled the issue as Jesus instructed us to in the Gospels. If I was party to this and was aware it was handled with confession, sorrowful repentance along with hatred for what he had done accompanied by counseling, I would want to keep the issue within our family. We should be vigilant and constantly aware of the presence of temptation.
I see genuine sorrow on the part of Josh and his family, which I did not see in the Clinton sex scandals -the Clintons tried to destroy Bill's victims - nor in that of Anthony Weiner (to name just two). This in no way is to excuse Josh's actions, but to simply express sadness that modern morals have left our culture insensitive to sins such as this, in fact, not even able to understand the the term "sin". I believe that in the eyes of liberals Josh's most egregious "sin" is that of being a Christian and a conservative.
The liberal media can now, as liberal reporter Carol Costello would say, just “sit back and enjoy” before angrily faking moral indignation.    The Tunnel Dweller

Bad decision: The move comes one day after the network decided to air a marathon of the show heavily featuring Josh (above with wife Anna and children Mackynzie, Marcus and Michael)

Special Ops to Obama: Let Us Fight ISIS, Already

They’re supposed to be at the forefront of the battle against ISIS. But U.S. special operators say the Obama administration’s restrictive rules of war are harming their mission.

The Daily Beast
STENNIS SPACE CENTER, MS - FEBRUARY 20: Moonlight active-duty Special Boat Team members from the Navy's Gulf Coast team participate in direct action drills on the Pearl River on February 20, 2013 at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. Throughout the six hour training evolution four Special Operations Craft-Riverine boats, or SOC-R's, patrolled the river in formation looking for instructors posing as enemy personnel on the river banks. Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewmen, or SWCCs, are members of the United States Navy's Special Boat Teams and are responsible for insertion, extraction, and combat fire support for the U.S. Navy SEALs.
. . . "They were eager to talk about their aggravation over fighting by remote in Iraq and Syria: having to advise Iraqis, Kurdish Peshmerga, and rebel Syrian fighters from afar instead of joining them in battle.

“ 'We are doing everything through cellphones… It’s hard to do much when you can’t go outside the wire,” said one special operator, using the military jargon for the perimeter of a base.

"They blame the hands-off approach on an Obama administration unwilling to risk even small numbers of American lives in battle, burned by the fallout of the loss of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, and intent on preserving the legacy of President Barack Obama’s troop drawdowns in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“ 'You can’t say ‘We’re with you every step of the way, except when you are going on combat operations,’” said a former senior special operations official briefed on the ISIS campaign." . . .

Halperin Finds Iowa Democrats Can’t Name Hillary Accomplishments as Secretary of State

Mediaite  "Mark Halperin With All Due Respectsat down with a focus group of Iowa Democratic voters to discuss Hillary Clinton‘s prospects for the 2016 presidential election.

"While the group fawned over the former First Lady’s personality and politics (one called her a “bad mama jama”), they were stumped when Halperin asked them to name a single accomplishment of Hillary Clinton’s during her tenure as Secretary of State.

" 'The responses ranged from “I really can’t name anything off the top of my head” to “Give me two minutes” to “I honestly can’t say I followed along everything that was going on” to outright “No.”

"Washington Post‘s “The Fix” blog noted that while it’s stunning that some of her biggest fans cannot name her State Department achievements, “not being able to name specific things politicians have done isn’t that unusual for the average voters. Quick, name something that John Kerry has done as Secretary of State. Right. Think Iowa Republicans could do much better naming significant things Jeb Bush did as governor or Marco Rubio has done in the Senate?”

The Halperin interview:

Hillary, George and the media

Jack Cashill  . . . " George Stephanopoulos, has repeatedly sought the love and approval of a woman who simply does not have love in her bag of tricks.
. . .
"For all his fecklessness*, Stephanopoulos made a bold attempt to save Hillary’s candidacy when he “moderated” a primary debate in April 2008, and he might even have succeeded had his media buddies not already decided their job was to elect Barack Obama."
. . .
"That the Obama camp allowed this man to moderate a primary debate on ABC was one of their few tactical failures during the 2008 campaign. Stephanopoulos might as well have worn an “I heart Hillary” button. At one point, in fact, he threw Barack Obama a curve that had the potential to derail the senator’s campaign." . . .
. . .
"Were it not for “reporters” like Stephanopolous the comically inept and hopelessly corrupt Ms. Clinton would not dare run for mayor of Chappaqua. As it is, she could well be the next president of the United States."    Full article

The left reacts to Josh Duggar UPDATED

0521-josh-duggar-getty-01TMZ  "Josh Duggar has resigned as Executive Director of the Family Research Council, acknowledging he sexually molested underage girls including some of his sisters, calling his conduct inexcusable.
"Josh says, "Twelve years ago, as a young teenager. I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret."  He continues, "We spoke with authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling."
"The molestations occurred in 2002 and 2003, when he was 14." . . .

World Magazine has this from Anna Duggar:   “ 'At that point and over the next two years, Josh shared how the counseling he received changed his life as he continued to do what he was taught,” Anna said. “And when you, our sweet fans, first met me when Josh asked me to marry him … I was able to say, ‘Yes,’ knowing who Josh really is—someone who had gone down a wrong path and had humbled himself before God and those whom he had offended.”

This is red meat for the anti-Christian, anti-conservative left. We expect them to rejoice over this and they are not going to disappoint, as we can see here,  here, and here including the UK Daily Mail
Can '19 Kids' survive Josh Duggar scandal?  " 'This is the recurring problem with reality TV: The very source of its appeal — this isn't fiction, it's real life, true and unscripted! — is what makes it more vulnerable when confronted with scandal," Yahoo TV critic Ken Tucker wrote Friday.
Tucker wondered, "How does one look at Josh now, and not wonder about his actions? How does one look at the cheery faces of Jim Bob and Michelle and not think about about the degree of their complicity in keeping this 'storyline' — for that's what all real events become in this TV genre — suppressed?"
" '19 Kids" is a part of the foundation of TLC, a channel known for family friendly reality shows." . .

UPDATE from 2014: Libs aim to destroy the Duggars; America responds
American Thinker  "Last week, transgender activists tried to get the popular TV show 19 Kids and Counting canned.  The movement, accustomed to capitulation, may not have expected a conservative counter-petition to overcome its Change.org push.

Obama Cleared Muslim Cleric Damned Murdered SEALS in US Military Ceremony

Noisy Room

US_Navy_SEALs_insignia
“Our sons were willing to give all for this republic and today we look for answers, from a government who has failed to give us answers, who has at best covered things up…. We do know that there has been a cover-up…. our congressman… was lied to….”
“This government… and high ranking military officials allowed their bodies to be desecrated at the Ramp Ceremony in Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan. We’re going to show the video and you will see.”
"The event is today’s National Press Club conference by families of our heroes set up for murder in that big, noisy, old Chinook helicopter on August 6, 2011, including members of Navy SEAL Team 6." . . .
This video is slow-moving and runs over three hours:

"However, instead of rehashing the reporting here, we point first to the sites of co-sponsors of today’s solemn gathering before the press:

"In Stand Up America, “Warriors damned to hell in a ceremony to honor the fallen – Families Speak Out!”

"In FreedomWatch, “Navy Seal Team VI families to reveal government’s culpability in death of their sons in fatal helicopter crash in Afghanistan Following Successful Raid on Bin Ladin’s Compound”

"As the day progresses, we will update below, with links to coverage in other venues and we can see how far this is getting…"

"As may be expected, this news made its way through our most heroically uncompromising online news media, WND and Canada Free Press, and blogs such as ObamaReleaseYouRecords, Pat Dollard, and Fellowship of Minds.

"It also found its way into what may be called neo-conventional conservative sites such as Gateway Pundit, The Blaze, Breitbart, The Daily Caller, and Newsmax.

"Similarly, it is found on more conventional center-right sites, including Fox News, though so far I have not seen it on Manhattan/DC-globalist friendly (and somewhat magazine-like) National Review Online, American Spectator, nor even Red State. (I don’t see anything in Twitchy, either, which bills itself on immediacy and edginess.)

"If the reader has seen news of the event breaking through the mind-control filters of the Frankfurt School Left’s Marxstream media, please let us know. After all, in the words of Greg Gutfeld after the prior day’s Benghazi hearings, “The media is Obama’s scandal condom.” The protection continues, though it may be getting stickier for the whores to handle.

This video was not part of the article, but I feel it should always be in our consciousness so I choose to place it here. And in future posts of the Tunnel Wall. TD

  But I digress;

"Background in Gulag Bound:

On Letterman: "But, somewhere around the turn of the century, I lost interest. The show became less and less surreal."

The Letterman set, hours after the last show:

Hat tip to Jeff Hayden; Plano, TX

Althouse    "Real celebrities started showing up, and I winced as Dave would suck up to them. Suddenly, everyone had a perfectly polished, self-deprecating anecdote — invariably meant to prove the utter fiction that Celebrities Are Just Like Us — that sounded suspiciously crafted by a team of writers. Suddenly, each episode had as many as three celebrities, with Letterman being unctuous and insufferable and fake-laughing his way through every minute. At times Dave would turn depressingly earnest, particularly when he thought he had a Deep Political Point to make.... His comedy started to sound like everybody else’s, with the same potshots at the same easy targets. His act sounded less like dada, more like Dad. Letterman was the barking dog who caught the car, was invited in, and curled up delightedly on the seat...."

Letterman’s departure is 15 years too late
. . . "Letterman was the antidote to the lame, showbizzy, let-me-entertain-you style of comedy I associated with Las Vegas, tuxedos and “The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson.”

"I couldn’t believe it when I heard Letterman worshipped Johnny. Johnny was this smug, self-adoring relic who’d have on Don Rickles or Phyllis Diller or Jerry Lewis to mug desperately, pull faces, shout — anything but be funny. They were pathetic comedy salesmen who wouldn’t leave your doorstep until they’d unloaded their wares.

"Half the time, Johnny wouldn’t even be on Johnny’s show. There’d be long stretches of guest-hosting — John Davidson! Joe Garagiola! — while Johnny went off to loaf. The only guest host who didn’t immediately make you want to turn off the TV was . . . Letterman."
