The Election Post-Mortem

 If only.....

https://www.terrellaftermath.com/

Trump-Backed Kevin Kiley Puts Republicans over Top to House Majority as Number 218   . . ."Republican Reps. Mike Garcia (R-CA), David Valadao (R-CA), and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) are still ahead in their races, which could extend the Republican majority to 221 if each is successful.
"House Republicans on Tuesday nominated GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to be Speaker of the House; he earned 188 votes compared to Rep. Andy Biggs’ (R-AZ) 31 votes.
"McCarthy has until January to secure the 218 vote threshold required for him to be elected as speaker.
"With the majority in their control, Republicans will have control over the various House committees, which play an essential role in investigations.
"McCarthy has already spoken with top House Republicans about coordinating investigations across committees, including a probe of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.
"McCarthy also encouraged ranking Republicans currently sitting on House committees to send letters to Biden administration agencies asking them to turn over or preserve
Documents.". . .

Revolver  "There’s no way to sugarcoat it: that wasn’t what we were hoping for.
"The GOP went into Tuesday’s midterms with elevated, even exuberant hopes. And they should have. Joe Biden was a barely functional nullity with 40 percent approval. Inflation was at 40-year highs. Stocks were tanking and unemployment was rising. The withdrawal from Afghanistan was a calamity. Public schools were flooded with sickening tranny propaganda. Murder was up by a third nationwide. That was all more than enough to engineer a big midterm win. Even Democratic pundits seemed to think a shellacking was inevitable. There was talk of Republicans adding thirty, forty, even fifty seats in the House, to go along with 54 senators, or even more.
"That didn’t happen. On Monday, Republicans were fantasizing of a Don Bolduc upset in New Hampshire; he lost by 10 points. Promising Republican House candidates like Bo Hines lost, and the GOP even lost several incumbents on its way to a narrow House majority.
"There is certainly good news as well. Lauren Boebert looks likely to survive an election night scare. We are very happy to see J.D. Vance pick up a well-deserved win in Ohio. Ron Johnson once again fended off a tough challenge in Wisconsin. Beto O’Rourke and Stacey Abrams are hopefully finished as national political figures. Kari Lake has good odds to pull off her race for Arizona governor. And, of course, Ron DeSantis’s systemic demolition of the Florida Democratic party is an inspiration to the entire country.
"But still, it wasn’t a red wave, let alone a “red tsunami.” Going into Tuesday night, there were four true toss-up Senate races — Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona — and the GOP needed only two of them to win a Senate majority. As of this writing, Pennsylvania is lost and Georgia headed for a runoff with Raphael Warnock favored. The GOP may still win the Senate. But the most likely outcome is it will not, and the time to mentally accept that possibility is now.". . .

"John Fetterman has a suit and will wear it to the Capitol," Katz tweeted. "He is still recovering from a stroke and has lingering auditory processing challenges. The way Hill reporters are used to yelling questions at Senators will not work here."
"Welcome to the Slaughterhouse"

New York family of woman slain by angry ex moves to sue state over cashless bail laws

The Post Millennial

Tammy Hudson, the mother of the victim, said, "(Hochul) should be charged for the crime. She’s also responsible for the crime."

"The family of a slain upstate New York mom-of-three are considering suing Governor Kathy Hochul and local authorities as the woman was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend less than a day after he was put back on the streets via cashless bail."The family's lawyer, John Froman, told the New York Post, "The family feels authorities dropped the ball here, resulting in a heinous violent act and the murder of a daughter, sister and grandchild.". . .

". . .If bail reform was not in place, this individual would have never been released," Froman said of the incident.

"Adam Bennefield had a prior conviction for kidnapping a different ex at gunpoint.

"Keaira Bennefield had begged police and authorities for help before her murder. He was charged with second-degree murder after reportedly gunning the mom down in front of her kids.

" 'Bennefield pleaded not guilty to murder, aggravated criminal contempt and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child during his Oct. 21 arraignment," according to the Post.

"Froman is weighing his options for a wrongful death suit that could extend past Adam Bennefield to include local law enforcement and possible state authorities, such as Kathy Hochul.

"Tammy Hudson, the mother of the victim, said, "(Hochul) should be charged for the crime. She’s also responsible for the crime.". . .

The 2022 Harold Stassen Awards For Special Political Losers

Chronic loser.

The Lid Blog.  "For those who don’t remember or have never watched The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,  because Minnesota’s Harold Stassen lost so many times, he was a regular target of Carson’s jokes. Therefore this award will go to politicians whose careers of losses were very special, just like Harold Stassen. In fact, these losers are so bad it’s embarrassing.

"In a unanimous vote between me and my computer, the 2022 Midterm Stassen award winners were Beto O’Rourke, Stacey Abrams, and Charlie Crist.". . .

Beto O’Rourke   "Beto wins the award for the most diversified loser. He did win three elections for the House of Representatives in the house from 2012 to 2018. After he left congress in 2020, his political career went into the toilet. He ran for Senator, President, and Governor. Now that he lost the Governor race, the only things left are dog catcher and condo board treasurer.

"After he left congress in 2020, Beto’s political career went into the toilet. He lost two state elections and one national contest.

"O’ Rourke lost a campaign for the U.S. Senate against Ted Cruz in 2018, but his three percent loss to the incumbent gave Beto confidence to run for political office again. He ran for political office again. Beto ran for the Democratic Presidential nomination. No, really, it’s not a joke. This imbecile thinks he could be President.

"Since then, Beto’s only impact on the country has been reminding people to visit their dentist."

Stacey Abrams.  "The winner of the 2022, It’s Not My Fault Award is Stacey Abrams, the two-time loser from the state of Georgia. ". . ."Because Abrams used her race as a straw dog, she insisted that Kemp didn’t win the election it was stolen through suppression.". . .

Charlie Crist. . ."As a Republican, Crist ran for the U.S. Senate and lost in 1999. Crist served as the Republican Governor of Florida from 2007 to 2011,  He tried for the Senate again for the 2010 Republican primary. When he saw that Marco Rubio would beat him, Crist became an independent but still lost in the general election. Three years after he left the Governor’s office, Charlie became a Democrat and trashed  Republicans as racist because the voters preferred Latino Marco Rubio over caucasian Methodist Crist.". . .
"There is one more question left for Crist. Which party line will he run on next time?"

Too Rotten for the Nation’s Good

"On the subject of John Fetterman, the woke media outdid itself and will now pay the price."

The American Spectator   "There are few places where today’s cultural rot is more gangrenous than in legacy journalism. This has been such a problem for such a long time it hardly seems worthwhile drawing attention to it. Imagining that half the country doesn’t care and the other half has given up, it is easy to slip into despair about it and just accept it.
"But, thank heavens, Leighton Woodhouse, writing in the Tablet, has brought our attention back to it, writing with a lucid and burning urgency about the case of the compromised media and John Fettermen.
"Fettermen is the Democrat candidate for the Pennsylvania Senate seat that the Republican incumbent vacated. He suffered a serious, debilitating stroke several months ago. Choosing not to drop out of the race, Fettermen avoided public appearances and mounted a fairly effective campaign, hidin’ out of sight and bidin’ his time, just as Old Joe did, and let the corrupt media cover for him.
"The best thing for all would have been that Fetterman recovered, and fully; in this savage age, let’s hold on to our decency. The best for us all would be a campaign in which the competing ideas would be fairly and clearly set out and we would win because our ideas and our programs are better.
"But the world being what it is, Fetterman is still seriously impaired. Whether he is able to take on the responsibilities of the job he aspires to still is a question that concerns a large percentage of voters.
"And because a truthful answer to that question seems increasingly likely to lower Fetterman’s chance of winning, that large percentage of the legacy media decided that the truth must be concealed, and that those who try to reveal it should be destroyed.
"So when NBC News’ Dasha Burns reported on Fetterman’s cognitive impairment as if it was a legitimate interest, she was given the woke takedown that has become all too familiar.". . .

Caught in the act: Archives show MSM outlet stealth-edited attack on DeSantis

 D Parker

. . .

After Tuesday's stunning election results, the state's political transformation is now nearly complete, from deep purple battleground to crimson landscape, an ideal launch pad for Gov. Ron DeSantis' presidential aspirations.

"Did you notice anything?  A decided difference from "crimson hellscape" to "crimson landscape" without any notation of the change.  You can check the links yourself and verify the information.  It wouldn't surprise us to see another version cropping up, one with a stealth edit trying to absolve them of the previous stealth edit.  We shall see.

"Why is this important?

"If the nation's socialist media are going to play fast and loose with the facts with something like this, what else are they going to do, or what else have they done?

"Remember that NBC News decided to play the same game with a report on the attack on Paul Pelosi.  You can be sure that we're not going to get the full story on that case.

"The archives work as well as expected, and it's important that we all participate in protecting our constitutional republic by keeping an eye on the national socialist media and archiving their content.  But all of this highlights the severe need to create another aspect of the "parallel economy."

"We're not entirely sure of the ideological underpinnings of the operators of both of those sites.  However, there have been times when the Internet Archive has operated in a confounding manner — especially when sites of the fascist far-left are being documented.".

The effect of Democrats on this nation

We're The Würst From Tillamook County Americans:

A lot of people are already talking about leaving.
These are the same people which will be first to say, "leave it better than how you found it."
These are the same people which borrow your truck, and bring it back with a full tank.
These are the same people that speak to the fact that family roots should run deep. How can you be rooted when you want to flee?
I'm an Oregonian, and I love this state. I'm a husband, father and business owner, and my roots are here.
I'm also that person that returns your truck with the full tank of gas, leaves the campsite clean, picks up random trash and I run my business with this mentality because it is the right one.
Fleeing is leaving this beautiful state in ruin and admitting defeat.
Courage is rolling up your sleeves and redoubling your efforts.
So which are you?

Jay Leno, the last of the true nighttime comics, burned in a fire

Jay Leno responds after reports of 'serious' burns in fire (nypost.com)

 Andrea Widburg

Leno harks back to a time in America—the 1990s and first decade of the 21st century—that seems like a distant memory. Like Johnny Carson, the late-night host who preceded him, Leno’s humor was based on the premise that Americans are all willing to laugh at political foibles regardless of their, or the politicians’, party allegiance.

Back when late-night comedy was enjoyable :

. . ."With Leno’s retirement, late-night TV became a leftist wasteland. Even if he wasn’t the numbers leader, Jon Stewart set the tone for what was to come: Make a nasty remark about a Republican and then wait for the trained seals in the audience to bark out their cued laughter. Stewart eschewed wit or charm. This was “comedy” for the initiated.

"Stewart’s show gave rise to three other mean-spirited leftists: John Oliver, Samantha Bee, and Stephen Colbert, all of whom knew that their jobs required an unending stream of venom directed at Republicans and, especially, at Donald Trump. Indeed, the nastiness on cable TV shows infected the networks. By 2016, Jimmy Fallon was forced to apologize for daring to have then-presidential candidate Donald Trump on his show and actually treating him with friendliness and respect.

"I wish Jay Leno a swift, uneventful recovery. I also wish he were back on TV when late-night comics brought America together in shared laughter over the foolishness and foibles of the American political scene."

Now here is quality political humor, involving Reagan, Chinese President HU, Secretary of the interior James Watt, Yasser Arafat.

So far above anything Colbert, Letterman, Kimmel or any other nameless ones are capable of. TD

Maybe America Hasn’t Suffered Enough

 Scott McKay

The red wave washed ashore as a ripple, though Republicans did make progress.

. . ."This should have been a massive wave election. Given the low job approval ratings of the sitting president in his first midterm election, and given the favorable generic congressional ballot numbers, this should have been a plus-five wave in the Senate and a plus-30 wave, or bigger, in the House. It also should have resounded down to statehouses, and yet the GOP turns out, apparently, not to have been able to beat abysmal Democrat gubernatorial candidates like Katie Hobbs, Kathy Hochul, and Gretchen Whitmer.

"There are so many utterly horrid Democrats who will remain in office after this election that it should be offensive to average Americans. It’s tempting to fall into the trap of believing there must be wholesale corruption in American elections, but the problem with going there is that there must be proof before it’s actionable.

"Until some is presented, we’ll have to deal with something very unpleasant. Namely, here’s the truth that we on the Right are going to have to accept: the American electorate in 2022 is awful.

"And the axiom about the cycle that involves weak men and tough times is a real thing, and we are in the worst quadrant of that cycle.

"We are still in the time in which weak men make tough times. We have not gotten to the point where tough times make tough men.

"But get ready because those tough times will do their work. Perhaps for quite a long while.

"Somehow, the Democrats and their pals in the legacy media managed to convince a large swath of Americans that we’re not in a recession. Four in five Americans are unsatisfied with the economy, a large majority seem to be furious about gas prices, people say crime is out of control, and yet barely half of the country — if that — are motivated to unload the horrid leadership that caused those issues.

"Look at the state New York is in, and yet the voters there overwhelmingly chose to retain Hochul?". . .

Video: Xi, Biden Shake Hands In Bali – The Body Language Of Xi When They Stopped Shaking Hands Is Very Telling

USA Supreme

The respect for Biden on the world stage is gone!  But sadly our country’s reputation is also on the line!

"US President Joe Biden and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping shook hands at the start of their high-stakes summit in Bali, Indonesia on Tuesday.

"Biden and Xi are among the heads of state attending the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, from November 15 to 16. Having met multiple times as vice presidents of their respective countries, their meeting on the sidelines of the event is their first in person as leaders.

"Footage showed the two presidents greeting one another in front of the international press, posing for photographs inside a conference room before sitting down across from each other with large entourages of interpreters and senior advisers.

"The body language of Xi when they stopped shaking hands is very telling

"And his face really says it all!

"Biden and Xi walked toward each other from opposite sides of a hotel lobby and shook hands in front of a row of US and Chinese flags just after 5:30 p.m. local time.

"Watch the video below:"

Comment to this post: You can observe where is the leadership characteristics of these two guys. Xi is the real boss. Biden touched his nose like a shy little girl, he took the initiative to walk to the front of Xi's handshake is really a loss of American face. Xi's face though... subtly sends a message. Biden is a joke.

Joke or not, Biden discussed international subjects with Xi. Here is his report, but believe him at your peril.

Sports star says 'God created Adam and Eve,' all hell breaks loose

'I'm not going to accept all the weddings, all the parades, and anything else they do as normal'  Vassilis Tsiartas

WND   "A retired soccer star whose opinions about gender, based on biblical standards, appeared on social media has been given a suspended 10-month jail term for believing that men are men and women are women, as God created them.

"The abuse by the justice system in Greece of retired football legend Vassilis Tsiartas has been profiled in a column by Ben Johnson at Washington Stand.

"The report explains Tsiartas also was given a fine, suspended, for being "transphobic."

"His comments on social media came in his opposition to a law that would have lowered the age in that nation to legally change one's gender to 15.

"He initially responded, "I hope that the first sex changes will be made to the children of those who voted for this abomination," and he suggested lawmakers there may as well "legalize pedophiles and complete their crimes" against nature.

"Later he wrote about his biblical beliefs.

" 'God created Adam and Eve," he said, citing the Bible and explaining his faith-based objection to "extreme gender ideology and the redefinition of marriage," the report said.". . .

North Korean Mom in Trouble for Not Saving Kim Portraits From Fire (insider.com)

According to the Hermit Kingdom's laws, all depictions of the Kim family must be treated with the same reverence as the men themselves - meaning failure to care for the portraits properly is a serious crime.

Gotta believe this: Kim Jong-Il was reportedly a magical or supernatural or some other-worldly person. His official biography states that he did not use a toilet, because he did not need to - meaning he did not defecate or urinate. As insane and unbelievable as that sounds, it is a widely known 'fact' in North Korea. The lie was told to make Kim Jong-Il appear more "God-like". Now, if a man that did not go to the bathroom wasn't godly enough for you, Kim Jon-Il also claimed to be able to control the weather based on the mood he was feeling.

How many similarities do you see between American college campuses and North Korea?

California Remains a Blue State Hellscape

Votes continued to be tallied days after the election, including several key congressional districts.

Sanctuary state signs pop up in California (wnd.com)

"It is fortunate that I was not emotionally invested in the outcome of the election in California.

"Perhaps the race that most interested me was the Los Angeles mayor’s race. Ahead of the election, I reported that Republican businessman Rick Caruso and Democratic Congresswoman Karen Bass, are in a dead heat in the race.

"Initially, Caruso was ahead in the votes. But as the votes are still being counted, days after the election has ended, Bass is miraculously leading slightly.

Democratic Congresswoman Karen Bass took the lead in a close race against billionaire real-estate developer Rick Caruso to become the next mayor of Los Angeles, according to partial results still trickling out from local election officials.

Bass had 50.4% support compared to 49.6% for Caruso as of Friday afternoon, with an estimated 62% of the votes tallied, according data from the county registrar’s office and the Associated Press. Caruso had led in early counting.

Even though the election was Nov. 8, a winner may not be declared for several more days, or longer, as officials tally the mail-in ballots.. . .

Cornell University “Apologizes” To Ann Coulter After Students Shouting “Your Words Are Violence” Shut Down Speech

Legal Insurrection

. . ."Cornell has a long history of conservative speakers being heckled, disrupted and harassed: Rick Santorumpro-Israel events, and Michael Johns come to mind. But it’s not just conservatives – a group of liberal students wrote a scathing letter in the student newspaper decrying the leftist activist intimidation on campus:

“We write as a group of liberals frustrated with the current campus hostility towards free speech and open dialogue. We believe that a repressive campus culture only isolates and radicalizes, but does not eliminate, those with dissenting views. The goal is to win hearts and minds — not to cancel them. While we find the left’s policy goals laudable, we question the tactics used by our fellow students to achieve those goals. It is important to approach others with goodwill and charity, yet oftentimes we struggle to extend these virtues to our peers and friends.”   Add Ann Coulter to the list.

"I knew she was speaking on November 9, because I’m the faculty advisor to the Cornell Chapter of the Network of Enlightened Women (NeW), the group which invited her and sponsored the event. The speech was in one of the larger lecture halls at the law school, but was not a law school or law student event. I was not in Ithaca, so I couldn’t attend.

"In the run-up to the event, progressive students organized the obligatory petition to disinvite her, and engaged in self-parody in the Cornell Sun student newspaper:. . .
