Louisville police say 5 dead, 6 injured in shooting in Kentucky city's downtown area

'Suicidal' Louisville bank employee shooter Connor Sturgeon, 25, who shot dead four co-workers - and injured nine others including rookie cop - after losing his job and ambushing 8:30am meeting with assault rifle   "During the shooting, it was overheard on police scanners that Sturgeon was 'suicidal and texted a friend that he would "shoot up the bank" and had left his parents a note informing them of his intentions to attack his workplace, CNN reports."

"Police also confirmed that Sturgeon livestreamed the shooting on his Instagram, which has since been taken down and is now in police custody.

"Elliott was a major Democratic donor, whom Gov. Andy Beshear considered a close friend. And police officer Nicholas Wilt, 26, is now in critical condition after being shot in the head.

"The gunman was also killed in the shooting, but it is unclear if he died from a self-inflicted wound or from injuries he sustained as he exchanged gunfire with officers at the scene.". . .

Fiddling America Away

It seems no longer appropriate to tease other nations about being "surrender monkeys" when our own nation has shown a greater and greater lack of character. TD

American Greatness; Victor Davis Hanson "The last few weeks, the world had been writing off the United States as either crazy or irrelevant as it watches America cannibalize itself.

"Friends tremble at our sudden decline. Enemies rejoice. Neutrals make the necessary adjustments to join the ascendant non-American side.

"The symptoms of our decline abroad appear everywhere. The more Joe Biden brags about the crippling oil sanctions on Russia, friends like India and allies like Japan ignore them. And why not, when Biden has no idea how long the war in Ukraine will last, or how much wherewithal the United States can, should, or will give Kyiv, or how its on-to-Red-Square blank check will finally end?

"Big Biden talks about more solar and wind farms, and green new deals won’t fill the gas tanks in Munich or heat the homes of Kyoto, or lower the price of imported oil in the United Kingdom. Claiming the Afghanistan mess was a success fools no one.

"Allies ask who are our leaders. An impaired Joe Biden who never is quite sure where he is, what he is doing, or whom he is with?

Budweiser Distributor Cancels Clydesdales as Beer Drinkers Cancel Bud Light – RedState RedState

"The list of American companies and corporations facing backlash and the threat of boycotts as they fall like dominos to the woke mob seems to increase daily. One of the latest is Anheuser-Busch (AB InBev), after recently joining forces with transgender TikTok personality Dylan Mulvaney to promote Bud Light. This latest marketing decision does not seem to be a good one for the beer giant from the outset. On Thursday, Wil Fischer Distributing, located in the Springfield Missouri area, canceled all upcoming appearances of the iconic Anheuser-Busch Clydesdale horse team. The distributorship cited concerns about the safety of their employees in the wake of reaction surrounding the partnership between Anheuser-Busch and Mulvaney.". . .

"See what we did to Riley Gaines? You can be next!"
"At last we know why the corporate world has fallen in love with pretend woman Dylan Mulvaney. As I noted Thursday, he seems to be everywhere all at once, and it seems unlikely that corporate giants are suddenly so taken with Dylan’s charm and wit that they are spontaneously all at once falling over themselves to make him their pitchman. But now we know why there is this sudden imperative to make this man America’s sweetheart: corporations are being strong-armed into featuring him, or else.". . .
"This is why corporations seem so unanimously woke and unafraid to offend patriots: they know that “Go woke, go broke” is just a slogan, and that patriots have no equivalent to the ESG movement. Entrepreneur and presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy explained, “The big fund managers like BlackRock all embrace this ESG orthodoxy in how they apply pressure to top corporate management teams and boards and they determine, in many cases, executive compensation and bonuses and who gets re-elected or re-appointed to boards. They can make it very difficult for you if you don’t abide by their agendas.” Yes, they can. So expect to see much, much more of Dylan Mulvaney. And when the string-pullers finally get tired of watching him prance around, they’ll just get another puppet. The show will remain the same.". . .

The Real Existential Threat

 Canada Free Press

In Remembrance of a Great Nation

"The two subjects Democrats like to talk about the most are democracy and existential threats, threats to our democracy and existence. Since Democrats live in a Bizarro world, everything they say is opposite of reality and priority. These threats to our existence if made in opposite order of consequence would be Russia, Iran, North Korea, China, and...drum roll, please...the Democrats themselves!

"It is the Democrat Party, represented by the misinformed, the ill-informed, the MSNBC and CNN watchers, the rioters-on-a-moments- notice, the woke crowd, every worm that comes out of a closet, the dumb Anheuser Busch people who think putting a transgender on their cans is going to be a big seller. They are the lords of social chaos. Their tools are the illegal aliens, Black Lives Matter, the druggies and criminals on our streets, the transgenders they use as the Devil's cross to keep Christians at bay.

The Left has perfected the fraud

"They are the ignorant of those who are really calling the shots, the America-hating likes of Obama and company, the globalist toadies. Faithful to their Cloward & Piven strategy, overwhelming our country with social spending, they systematically pick away at America, hoping to destroy her with a thousand cuts, and working at cut number 938.

"Among the many cuts, Democrats don't see the irony of appointing themselves in the position of 'Protectors of Democracy' while not trusting the voters to do it. As many as 18 states do not require identification to vote. Democrats say it suppresses the vote. Of course it does. It keeps people who are not qualified to vote from voting...duhhh! And now 7 million illegal aliens have entered our country.". . .

"It is laughable when pundits give us election news and report that in spite of all the social chaos, voters still manage to return power to those who created the chaos, as if we had honest elections. The Left has perfected the fraud.". . .

A Sober Look at the State of Our Beloved Country - American Thinker   . . ."In 1976, writing in To Jerusalem and Back, his personal account of a visit to Israel, Saul Bellow quotes a contemporary Soviet Jewish writer named Agursky, who believed that Western democracy was "on the brink of catastrophe."  Writing from inside a totalitarian regime, Agursky could see, Bellow notes, that democracy survives only when a free people is capable of self-discipline.  Almost fifty years ago, Bellow was comforted because he believed that enough of the old political morality remained in the West to preserve a democratic system.

"But is that still true?  Do we have enough of the old morality left in this country to survive?". . .

Deplatforming speech

Shame on Mr. Thomas.

SFSU Responds to Alleged Assault on Riley Gaines . . . By Praising the Protesters – JONATHAN TURLEY  "SESP sophomore April Navarro publicly rejected that faculty should be allowed to invite such speakers to their classrooms for a “good, nice conversation with ICE.” She insisted such speakers needed to be silenced because they “terrorize communities” and profit from detainee labor:

“We’re not interested in having those types of conversations that would be like, ‘Oh, let’s listen to their side of it’ because that’s making them passive rule-followers rather than active proponents of violence. We’re not engaging in those kinds of things; it legitimizes ICE’s violence, it makes Northwestern complicit in this. There’s an unequal power balance that happens when you deal with state apparatuses.”

"No students were ever punished. Similarly, in the outrageous shouting down of an appellate judge at Stanford Law School, the Dean voiced support for free speech but refused to sanction any of the students responsible for the disruption.

"The message from these universities is clear: students will not be held accountable for the denial of free speech. That knowledge fuels the sense of license to bar opposing views.". . .

SFSU VP Blocks Riley Gaines, Gaines Lets Her Know Actions Have Consequences – RedState   "As we reported earlier, San Francisco State University released a statement from “Jamillah Moore, Ed.D.” who is their “Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management” about the assault on All-American swimmer Riley Gaines by radical trans activists while she was speaking on their campus. Moore praised the protesters “who participated peacefully” and said that she was “proud” of them. Click on the tweet to see the full statement.". . .

"Moore did not mention in her statement the students who mobbed and assaulted Gaines and chased her screaming down the hall as she had to be rushed to safety in another room. Gaines was then stuck in that room for the next three hours as the mob howled outside and the campus police who had rushed her there were too afraid to confront the mob. The “activists” outside were even caught on video talking about demanding she pay them to be let out. Finally, the city police arrived and got her out of there.

"A TPUSA College Senior Field Representative also posted this picture saying she also was shoved during the ambush.

"Notice the other thing missing from Moore’s statement: any recognition of the obligation of the university to ensure the safety of speakers or free speech, or any acknowledgment or apology to Gaines, or any effort to say such a thing would never happen again — that speech would be protected at the school. Nowhere was there a denunciation of attacking a woman on the campus. So much for “women’s rights” when they talk about “diversity.' ”. . .

The increasingly dangerous transgender movement sweeping America - American Thinker  . . ."The Democrats, from Biden on down, rather than working to tamp down this madness, are doing their best to amplify this insane frequency, by assuring these already maddened people that they are the victims of a planned Republican “genocide.” The escalating number of violent attacks by this mentally-ill multitude is increasing and will continue to do so.". . .

The Arab world asks: Will America continue to act as the world’s policeman?

  Arab News

Joe Biden has also tended to be more domestic-focused. The US exit from Afghanistan was handled disastrously, hardly elevating the country’s prestige globally.

Joe Biden is greeted by Ilhan Omar upon arrival at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, Minnesota,

"Back in the 1990s, if there was such a thing as the world’s policeman, then it was the US. This was the American moment, not least in the Middle East. The Soviet Union had collapsed, Russia was in crisis and the sleeping dragon of China was only just awakening.

"The questions many ask nowadays revolve around whether the US even wants this role part time anymore? Does the world need a policeman? States are meant to be equal, but of course they are not. And what happens if the US totally abandons such a function? Does China try to step in?
"America’s reputation is far from pristine. It made telling interventions for the better in both world wars. It was instrumental in the liberation of Kuwait in 1991. Without America’s role in the Balkans, things may have been considerably worse. But against that, many people see the US as having acted as a bully. They remember Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib and extraordinary rendition. And what about when the US and others did absolutely nothing, as in Rwanda?
"Things went downhill for the US after 9/11. It saddled itself with two costly, lengthy interventions in Afghanistan and then Iraq. The former was initially broadly supported internationally. The latter certainly was not and ate away at America’s credibility and reputation. The cost in blood and treasure was gargantuan, but what really changed was the crushing of US domestic support for adventurism overseas. That said, America’s withdrawals from Iraq and Afghanistan did not bring order and security. Far from it.". . .

. . ."But the US will still matter. Any weakness is more about political will rather than any absence of military or economic might.". . .Full article here...

Transgender Suspect With Communist Manifesto Arrested For Planning Shootings At Schools, Churches: Police

The Daily Wire   Law enforcement officials in Colorado have arrested a transgender individual with a communist manifesto for allegedly planning mass shootings at schools and churches in the area.

News of the arrest was made public on Thursday afternoon, but the arrest happened on March 31, just a few days after a transgender terrorist massacred six people, including three children, at a private Christian school in Nashville.

The individual, who The Daily Wire is not naming due to company policy about not giving notoriety to mass killers or those who allegedly aspire to commit such atrocities, is a biological male who goes by a different female name and uses “she/her” pronouns.

"The 19-year-old was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree (two counts), criminal mischief, menacing, and interference with staff, faculty, or students of educational institutions.

"The suspect allegedly targeted Timberview Middle School, Prairie Hills Elementary, Pine Creek High School, and “other targets were churches,” KRDO reported.

"A family member turned the suspect into police, telling 911 that they had threatened to shoot up schools and had severe anger issues.". . .

Can U.S. M1 Tanks Make A Difference In Ukraine?

Issues & Insights  . . ."The short answer is no, for several reasons. The U.S. has pledged 31 M1 tanks but they will not arrive for at least a year. We will not send tanks with DU armor because the composition is still secret and because of the difficulty of cleanup if the armor is breached, so they will have to be re-manufactured with alternate armor or taken from stocks of other export versions. In any case, 31 tanks is a pittance in a war that has already seen roughly a thousand Russian tanks destroyed.

"In support of the government’s fight against ISIS, we gave more than 300 M1s to Iraq, so 31 is largely symbolic; their real purpose is to induce the Germans to provide 100 or more of their tanks during 2023. It is possible that those tanks will arrive in time and in sufficient numbers to make a difference, but even that number will have to be used very strategically if they are to have a significant impact. Russia has a huge advantage in numbers of tanks, so frontal assaults on Russian tank positions would quickly deplete the limited Ukrainian supply. Instead, their high mobility must be used to stage hit-and-run ambushes and Blitzkrieg-style rear-area raids.

"Unfortunately, despite our advances in armor protection, greater advances in anti-tank missiles have been developed, as exemplified by our own Javelin, which has devastated so many Russian tanks. Russia also has plenty of effective anti-tank missiles, which are widely deployed and hard to detect. A solution would be to provide the Ukrainians with tanks outfitted with the Trophy active protection system, which has radar that can detect incoming missiles and rockets and shoot them before they hit the tank. Trophy is a game-changer that largely eliminates the threat from anti-tank missiles and would allow much more flexible use of the tanks. The U.S. has outfitted several hundred M1s with Trophy; unfortunately, this does not appear to be in the cards for Ukraine.

"There is hope, however. Ukraine has shown great resourcefulness in its execution of the war thus far, and we expect that they will use these new assets wisely."  Much more...

Prof ‘Admires’ Murder Of Conservative Campus Speakers — CAN He Be Fired? -

 The Lid

Biden and his fellow leftists can cry ULTRA-MAGA hysterics all day long, but if they really cared about dealing with violence and division, they should stop making excuses for how many cynically malevolent people their ideology produces.

"A prof calling for the murder of Conservatives is a new low. The left pretends to care about rights and ‘harm’ to someone so long as those victims are politically convenient to their cause.

"Anyone who doesn’t march lockstep with their agenda doesn’t get the dignity of being considered truly ‘human’ in that sense.

"Their reactions when conservative judges are targeted for assassination, when churches and crisis pregnancy centers are destroyed, or when a whole range of bully tactics are brought to bear on people who check some combination of identity boxes are ‘fair game:

"Those identity boxes include conservative, white, heterosexual, male, and Christian. The more boxes you check off, the less human value your life has in their eyes.

"We are seeing that play out in real life. Rand Paul has been personally attacked on several occasions. At the time of writing, we do not know the condition of the Rand Paul staffer who was clinging to life after being stabbed in the head by an assailant. That Christian school in Nashville? It was a targeted attack by someone who is trans.

"Hardly a day goes by when some elected Democrat doesn’t use a pejorative in front of the word ‘Christian’ these days… often cynically pairing it with ‘White’ and ‘Nationalist.". . .

Wyoming Democrat Says She Supports Murdering People Who Oppose Transgenderism - The Lid (lidblog.com)

. . ."Wyoming Democrat State Rep. Karlee Provenza has kicked up outrage in the Cowboy State for posting memes on social media in which she suggested that anyone who opposes the radical, groomer transgender agenda should be murdered.

"Three memes, in particular, have gotten this leftist lunatic in hot water. One features a photo of an old woman in a jacket festooned in trans flag colors and holding a rifle with the caption “Auntie Fa Says Protect Trans Folks Against Fascists & Bigots.” A second with a voice stating that first-degree murder is the proper policy. And a third advertising for Antifa patches to be worn at protests."

For Soros-funded prosecutor, Trump indictment is a campaign promise kept

Byron York  "Alvin Bragg, the local district attorney in Manhattan who has led the effort to indict former President Donald Trump, is an elected official. He ran for his current office in 2021. In that campaign, he won a Democratic primary crowded with fellow Democrats who promised that, if elected, they would go after Trump. Now, having been elected, Bragg is going after Trump.

"Getting Trump has been a common feature in New York elections for law enforcement positions. The 2018 campaign for state attorney general was a virtual bidding war in which each candidate promised to pursue Trump more zealously than the other candidates. The winner, Attorney General Letitia James, has been unable to come up with criminal charges against Trump personally, but she did, along with Bragg, prosecute the Trump Organization on questionable grounds -- or, if not questionable, at least grounds that led observers to wonder whether the case would have been pursued with such fervor against an organization not named Trump. Top Trump official Allen Weisselberg pleaded guilty to 15 felony charges.

"Now Bragg has won the indict-Trump sweepstakes. And for him, indicting Trump on charges that seem truly questionable is more than just indicting Trump. It is keeping a campaign promise. No, Bragg did not specifically pledge, "If elected, I will indict Donald J. Trump." But he promised to pursue Trump and hold him "accountable," which is progressive code for going after Trump in any way possible.". . .
