Easter: the Resurrection of Jesus Transformed the World Forever

 Scott S. Powell

"It turns out that Easter, which has its ultimate meaning through the resurrection, is one of ancient history’s most scrutinized and best attested events. Easter is the commemoration and celebration of the single event that transformed the world forever."

Across cultures throughout human history, people have sought to flee oppression and escape persecution. A recurring theme in Western literature and in modern classics such as Superman and Disney originals, which revolve around the struggle between good and evil, is the need and critical role for a rescuer or savior.

Easter is the celebration of the finished work of the messiah Jesus Christ, the ultimate rescuer and savior for mankind, who sacrificed his life to provide forgiveness of sin -- enabling all who believe in Christ to have a direct relationship with God.

That no other religion makes the claim that it was founded by a messiah makes Jesus the most revolutionary figure of human history.

Still, some assume Christianity is like other religions that require followers to perform certain works and rituals acceptable to God. Not so with Jesus, for he implores us in Matthew 11:30 that, “My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” When a learned Jewish Pharisee, whose life required living up to stressful “dos and don’ts” of the Mosaic law, asked Jesus which was the greatest commandment in the law, Jesus answered simply that if we love God and love our neighbor as ourselves, we will have fulfilled all the laws.

Christ is absolutely unique in other ways. First, he is the only person in history who was pre-announced starting a thousand years before he was born, with eighteen different prophets between the tenth and the fourth centuries B.C. predicting his coming birth, life, and death. Hundreds of years later, the details of Christ’s coming birth, life, betrayal, and manner of death validated those prophecies in surprisingly accurate and minute detail. One thousand years B.C., David prophetically wrote about the crucifixion of Christ, at a time when crucifixion was unknown as a means of execution.

The death of other religious leaders -- such as Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Mohammad, or Confucius -- brought anticlimactic endings to their lives and work. But Christ came into the world as God’s son to die and pay the price for man’s iniquity." . . .  More

The Book Of Daniel Foreshadows Easter

Daniel Foreshadows Easter – Bible.org Blogs

"Easter is a particular time we set as a celebration of our God of the gospel—Christ dying on the cross for the payment of our sins, God accepting Jesus’ payment by raising Him from the dead, and the Holy Spirit’s transformative work in our lives for righteousness. One of the beautiful impacts of Easter on my life took form as I reflected on a particular incident."

"My regularly scheduled Bible study provided me with a unique and unexpected Lenten and Easter preparation. I probably learned this years ago in seminary but hearing it anew in a sermon from my former pastor1 cemented the truth that Daniel chapter six contains a foreshadowing—a type—of Jesus Christ.

"A “type” in the Bible is “a person or thing in the Old Testament that foreshadows a person or thing in the New Testament.”2 How amazing that God intentionally pointed to Jesus from the very beginning and throughout history.

"Here are some ways that Daniel foreshadows the death and resurrection of Christ.

Daniel

Jesus Christ

Daniel was a royal son of Judah whose superior wisdom and excellent spirit set him apart from his peers (Daniel 1:3Daniel 6:3)

Jesus was a royal son of Judah whose superior wisdom and excellent spirit set him apart from humankind (Matthew 1:1Acts 10:38)

Daniel’s intended appointment as chief ruler over Babylon angered the other leaders who were envious of him. (Daniel 6:3)

As King of the Jews, Jesus’ claim to the throne angered the other leaders who were envious of him. (Matthew 2:1–2John 1:49Matthew 27:18)

The officials conspired against Daniel (Daniel 6:4)

The priests and the elders conspired against Jesus (Matthew 26:3–4)

Read the full study here.

. . ."Of course, Daniel does not match Jesus in every way. No type is meant to. While Daniel was human and thus a sinner, Jesus was divine and never sinned (1 Peter 2:22). Daniel experienced the possibility of death whereas Jesus truly died (Mark 15:37). Daniel prospered temporarily (Daniel 6:28) and later died as an old man but Jesus resurrected and was elevated to the right hand of God the Father where he reigns forever and ever (Mark 16:19).

"How might God be foreshadowing Jesus’ death and resurrection in your current reading or experience? What do you need to remember this Easter?

"Lord Jesus, like Daniel I face a roaring lion on the prowl looking to devour me (1 Peter 5:8). But this Easter, I remember that you are my Lion of Judah (Revelation 5:5) who willingly gave your life for me (John 10:15). Deliver me from evil (Matthew 6:13) as you did for Daniel."

Why wouldn’t this person think this behavior is acceptable? Tim Walz has been encouraging hatred of Musk and Tesla for weeks.Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has been having a grand old time bashing Elon Musk and Tesla while speaking to crowds of angry leftists in recent weeks.

"One person who works under his administration apparently took the governor’s message to heart.

A government analyst in the state was just caught keying a Tesla while he was out walking his dog. He has reportedly been arrested.

The Daily Mail reports:

A member of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s administration has been repeatedly caught on camera allegedly vandalizing parked Tesla vehicles with his keys while out walking his dog.

Van Hollen Backtracks As El Salvador Stunt Backfires Spectacularly

 PJ Media

"As more details emerge about Abrego Garcia's background, Van Hollen's office seems increasingly desperate to distance the senator from his own headline-grabbing mission. Funny how quickly a "humanitarian visit" transforms into an awkward diplomatic incident when the cameras start rolling."

"Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) is frantically backpedaling after his ill-conceived El Salvador publicity stunt blew up in his face. The Maryland Democrat, who initially trumpeted his mission to "rescue" a deported MS-13 gang member, is now desperately trying to rewrite the script of his adventure gone wrong.

"When Van Hollen first landed in the country, he couldn't wait to broadcast his virtuous mission to the world. "I just landed in San Salvador," he proclaimed proudly, promising to secure the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whom he claimed was "illegally abducted."

"Fast forward a few days, and suddenly the senator's bold crusade has morphed into a classic attempt to backpedal. While Van Hollen was making a fool of himself, the Trump administration revealed the evidence that Abrego Garcia is, in fact an MS-13 gang member, but also that he reportedly engaged in human trafficking and domestic abuse.

"Suddenly, this photo-op to own Trump and his immigration policies became an epic self-own, and Van Hollen's tone has shifted dramatically, evening accusing El Salvador president Bukele of setting him up." . . .

Grandma of alleged FSU gunman Phoenix Ikner calls his parents ‘rotten bastard people’ after deadly campus shooting

Not stated were the "extremist views", but being the NY Times that likely included the stepmother being a Trump voter. Just a guess. TD

NY Post   "The grandmother of alleged Florida State University gunman Phoenix Ikner reportedly accused his parents of influencing the campus shooting that left two dead and several others injured — ripping the couple as “rotten bastard people.”

"Footage circulating on social media depicted a terrifying scene of carnage and panic as the lone gunman fired rapid shots at seemingly random people near the campus’s student union building.

"Ikner, who was also allegedly caught with a handgun and a shotgun, has since been described as someone who touted “white supremacist” views and spewed “gross” racial rhetoric, according to his classmates."

From The Times of India   . . .“He was the sweetest kid, smart,” she said while briefly sobbing, before adding, “The rotten bastard people. I have no idea what we’re going to do now, I have no idea.' ” . . .

FSU Shooting Suspect Was Shaped by Guns, Extreme Views and Chaotic Childhood - The New York Times   . . ."By the time the suspect, Phoenix Ikner, was 6 years old, court records showed that he had to repeat kindergarten. His parents fought bitterly over every aspect of his care while accusing each other of manipulation and abuse. Judges were forced to intervene again and again as the parents traded allegations of domestic violence and stalking. The legal battle consumed nearly his entire childhood and ended only when he became an adult and most of the family court matters became moot.
“All I wanted for him was a loving environment,” his biological mother, Anne-Mari Eriksen, said on Friday in a brief interview, in which she was clearly upset. “I was always concerned about his mental health and happiness.”
Chief Lawrence E. Revell of the Tallahassee Police Department said in a video statement that the suspect, a Florida State student, appeared to have no direct connection to his victims. The chief added that the suspect would face charges up to and including first-degree murder.

Victor Davis Hanson: Oligarchy Malarkey (Plus Other Democrat Mantras Refuted)

  Religio-Political Talk

The keffiyeh-Klad Kampus Klowns are fertile ground for demagoguery. TD

This is an update to an older post. Some of it predating 2010 (2006/2009) and much of it refuting the myths in the propaganda when they were fomented. (I did update the “old/young divide” portion when comparing Democrats and Republicans – mainly because I was curious how the demographics have changed. As well as the 2016, 2020, and 2024 election/richest counties stats.) So some of the links may be bad. I apologize.

A VICTOR DAVIS HANSON’S  OLIGARCHY MALARKEY UPDATE:

(This is via TWITCHY and my upload to RUMBLE)

Political commentator Victor Davis Hanson says the Democrats’ anti-oligarchy stance makes no sense. Why? They are the party of the wealthy class. They are the billionaires’ party. Instead, he says the party is using the ‘oligarchy’ term to go after billionaires who have left the Democrat Party. Democrats don’t hate billionaires, they just hate the ones they no longer control and who are no longer on their side.

“They don’t tolerate apostates” | VDH tears the Democrat “Oligarchy” narrative to absolute SHREDS:

“They use this term to castigate the relationship between Donald Trump and Elon Musk.”

“The ten wealthiest people in the US until recently were all lavish donors for the Democrats….So why are they so angry at the “oligarchs” when they were synonymous with Democrats?”

“They don’t tolerate apostates, so they are angry. They are angry they don’t have a lock on the oligarchs.”

“They demand absolute loyalty…any defections or apostates causes them to go ballistic…that anyone would doubt their ability to control big money in the United States.”

Do Desperate Dems Really Want To Die On Illegal Immigration Hill?

Issues & Insights

"For those who are here illegally and intend to rob, rape, steal and murder, it should be an easy call: Send them back to where they came from. Simple. Any civilized nation would do that. Any civilized person would support it. But not the Democrats."

"The Democratic Party is twisting in agony over its newfound lack of popularity among rank-and-file voters, including those within its own party. To understand why, the party needs look no further than its support for bringing illegal immigrant and alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia back from El Salvador.

"Abrego Garcia, you see, was among those here illegally who were deemed criminal enough to be shipped immediately back to their home country. Abrego Garcia is not an American citizen; he is Salvadoran, both by birth and by legal citizenship.

"Sending Abrego Garcia back should have been a slam dunk. And it was, until U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg found “probable cause” for holding the Trump administration in criminal contempt of his March order forbidding the deportation of Abrego Garcia.

"Now we’re told this is a “constitutional crisis.”

"It’s true the Justice Department admitted making an “administrative error” in sending Abrego Garcia back when they did, but that error wouldn’t have changed his deportation status; only it’s timing.

"It’s also true that the Supreme Court has said that the Trump administration must “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s release, as if Trump controls El Salvador’s prisons.

"For the record, on Monday, meeting at the White House with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, Trump explained why he couldn’t “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s release from prison.

"Because he can’t." . . .

'Wheeeeee I'm An Astronaut!' Exclaims Katy Perry During Ride On Disneyland Astro Orbiter

 Parody from the Babylon Bee

In touch with the Divine Feminine.

"ANAHEIM, CA — Singer and TV personality Katy Perry inspired dozens Thursday after declaring she was an astronaut following a brief ride on Disneyland's Astro Orbiter.

" 'Wheeeeee! I'm an astronaut!" she said while riding the thrilling Tomorrowland attraction. "Taking up spaaaace! I really feel in touch with the divine feminine now."

"Perry described the ride as deeply supernatural, saying that it spun her around and around to the point that she felt "all the G's." She is now a bona fide astronaut, she says, because she got to pilot the spacecraft herself. "I can make it go up and down! Wheeeeee!"

"Park guests who witnessed the historical moment say they will forever remember Katy Perry's ability to sit there and ride the attraction. "She's a trailblazer," said one mother of three. "It makes me feel like I can be an astro orbiter too."

"At publishing time, Katy Perry was seen riding the Matterhorn Bobsleds, where she proclaimed, "I'm a Sherpa! Wheeeeeeee!' ".

Bonus feature from the Bee: American Hostages In Gaza Disguise Themselves As MS-13 Gang Members So Democrats Will Fight To Bring Them Home

Upon hearing reports that people matching the description of MS-13 gang members were being held prisoner in Gaza, congressional Democrats sprang into action. "Bring them home now!" said an impassioned Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland. "If they're members of MS-13, they belong here. I am demanding that they be brought to the United States immediately so they can be with the rest of their gang."

"They Can't Hide It: Something HUGE is Happening in America..."

UPDATED: Israel Understands the Enemy It Faces — Do the Rest of Us?

Douglas Murray

"In 2023, a month after the October 7 massacre, another actress, Susan Sarandon, addressed an anti-Israel protest near Bryant Park in Manhattan. At that protest, the crowds chanted “From the river to the sea,” “Israel is a racist state,” and “There is only one solution — intifada, revolution.” It was a reminder, if such was needed, that there is always a type of Westerner who is desperate to see the land soaked with blood — so long as it is not their own."

Iran against the West   "Today the government most responsible for spreading the accusation that Israel is expansionist and colonialist is the revolutionary Islamic government in Iran, which has spent recent years assiduously expanding its colonies. What has Gaza become but a colony of Iran? What has Iraq become since Iran moved into the vacuum left by America after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein? Or Yemen? Or Syria, into which Iran had poured Hezbollah and other forces? Iran and its proxies and mouthpieces in the West have spent years accusing Israel of being a colonial, expansionist state while all the time expanding and colonizing everywhere they can reach in the region. Why did the mullahs order Hezbollah to engage in the Syrian civil war except to prop up Syria as a forward base of Iran? And what of Lebanon, which even in 2006 still had a government able to distance itself from the actions of Iran’s army, Hezbollah. By the time Hamas started its October 2023 war against Israel and Hezbollah joined in, Lebanon had become practically a colony of Iran — with Hezbollah ruling the country by terror and setting up its weaponry among Lebanese civilians. For years Hezbollah had set up checkpoints at Beirut Airport for passport control and had acted as the government of that country, whether the people wanted that or not. And there is much evidence that they do not.

"Despite this, many Western intellectuals and journalists celebrated the flight of Khomeini from Paris. Among them was Michel Foucault, the left-wing French philosopher, who saw Khomeini as bringing a spiritual revolution to Iran that would finally do away with the Western sins of capitalism and materialism. Richard Falk, professor emeritus at Princeton, greeted the Iranian Revolution by reassuring readers of the New York Times that the depiction of Ayatollah Khomeini “as fanatical . . . and the bearer of crude prejudices seems certainly and happily false.” In a subsequent piece for Foreign Policy (“Khomeini’s Promise”), Falk added that “Khomeini’s Islamic republic can be expected to have a doctrine of social justice at its core; from all indications it will be flexible in interpreting the Koran.”

'It was soon proved that nothing could have been further from the truth. From 1979 to the present day, the revolutionary Islamic government in Tehran has subjugated the Iranian people, condemned women to second-class status, imprisoned and tortured Iranian students, and instituted public hangings for people accused of “crimes” such as homosexuality. The hope that, given time, a “moderate” Iranian revolutionary leader would emerge proved false. And while the new government in Iran railed against the West for the sins of “colonialism” and much more, the regime spent its decades in power taking over not just Iran but the wider Middle East'

"Everywhere the same rule holds. Groups like Hamas that delight in their bloodlust accuse the Israelis of being insatiable killers. Palestinian groups and their supporters who encourage their youth to view death through “martyrdom” as the highest form of valor claim that the Jews are bloodthirsty child-killers. People who use rape as a weapon of war accuse the Israelis of insatiably raping prisoners in Israeli jails."
