MOLLIE HEMINGWAY: The pardon is being sought by people who know what she did because she is in legal jeopardy. At the very least, she should be investigated for this. But I also think it’s so interesting how much Democrats — the reason why she’s getting the award is she helped Democrats campaign. They thought she was helpful. You might remember, the Kamala Harris campaign had Liz Cheney out on the road. That was their closing message. If you vote for Kamala Harris, you’re going to have people like Liz Cheney handling our foreign policy. And polling showed that was actually a net negative with people on that campaign.
So Liz Cheney, as awful as her behavior has been in these last few years, she did give Republicans this gift of taking her very unpopular, politically toxic, neocon interventionism and moving it from the Republican Party now firmly into the Democrat Party.
So for that, Republicans can be thankful.

Here's the story behind the woman set on fire in the NYC subway
Kawam grew up in Little Falls, New Jersey, where she was reportedly a popular student, cheerleader, and worked at a pancake house, according to friends who spoke with The New York Times.

- Debrina Kawam, a former high school cheerleader who worked at Merk, was set on fire while sleeping on a subway train, raising questions about her life.
- Sebastian Zapeta, 33, admitted to heavy drinking and expressed remorse, but claimed not to remember the attack.
- A Guatemalan citizen, Zapeta was living in a Brooklyn shelter and working as a roofer when the incident occurred.
"NEW YORK - A woman set on fire inside a New York City subway has raised questions about how a former cheerleader and Merck employee, who fell into homelessness, became the victim of an attack allegedly by a deported migrant.
" 'It is difficult to fathom what could lead someone to commit the atrocious and horrific murder with which this defendant is charged," Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in a statement Tuesday.

"The Santa Ynez Reservoir, with a capacity of 117 million gallons, could have played a critical role in providing water pressure to firefighters battling the devastating fire that destroyed thousands of homes and buildings in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Malibu.
"Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s (DWP) officials claim the reservoir had been offline for “a while” due to a tear in its cover.
