‘Lawyer Up’: Democrats Declare War on Trump Administration

"It didn’t take long for Democrats to aim their knives at President Donald Trump and his administration.

"The Democrats will control the House of Representatives and the Senate in January with massive majorities.

Good morning to everyone except:

Bennie Thompson Warns DHS to Preserve Records as Democrats Prepare Investigations

. . . "Thompson will likely chair the Committee on Homeland Security when the Democrats take over in January. He currently serves as the Ranking Member.

"I remind you once again that many Democrats let everyone know they intend to investigate everyone in the Trump administration once we learned the party won the House majority.

"On Wednesday, Thompson asked Democrats to support his bid to become chairman."

Oh, look. ICE is first on his list of what the Democrats on the committee plan to tackle (emphasis his):

Did Stock Market Surge Mean Investors Love Dems And Socialism? No, But They Love Gridlock

 Issues & Insights

"Or extreme legislation reflecting the dangerously growing clout of socialism within the Democratic Party. Gridlock makes all of those things less of a threat, not more of one."

"Democrats have been giddy following the strong rise in the major U.S. stock market indexes the day after their blue wave crashed over Congress, giving them back control of both houses and leaving badly defeated Republicans as a demoralized minority. So do stock market investors like socialism? Hardly.

One thing is clear from this election: the Democratic Party mainly flies these days on its left wing. There are very few Democratic moderates and even fewer conservatives (if any) among Democrats. With its open embrace of the Democratic Socialists of America and its alliance with politically radical Islam, it is now all but in name a socialist party.

"But that isn’t what the stock market was applauding on Wednesday.

"OK, so why did the S&P500 Index gain 1.6%, the Dow 30 a whopping 3%, and the Nasdaq 1.4% the day after the Democrats shellacked the Republicans?

"Relax. The markets haven’t gone socialist. They are, as always, highly pragmatic.

"As we wrote just yesterday, “the only thing we know for sure is that for the next two years, Washington, D.C., will be in a state of gridlock while Democrats unleash a torrent of investigations, impeachments, and endless claims of corruption and wrongdoing.”

"Yes, “gridlock,” which is just another word for restoring lost political equilibrium through the ballot box.

"That’s why the market often does well after midterm elections. Midterm elections are usually a course correction for voters who feel angry or betrayed by a political party or a charismatic leader. And that can create a deeply divided government. Also known as gridlock.

"The truth is, markets like midterm elections because of this process, not despite it.

"President Donald Trump, after congratulating Democrats on their big victory, noted almost casually that he intends to veto Democratic bills he doesn’t like. No surprise there. A veto is a powerful thing: It takes two-thirds of both chambers of Congress to override one. That’s real gridlock.

"So regardless of what Democrats might want, unless they play ball with the now-minority Republicans in the House and Senate and with Trump, they’re unlikely to get it." . . . More.

The Meaning of the 2026 Election: Voters wanted affordability. Republicans gave them tariffs and unelectable candidates.

The American Spectator | USA News and Politics

"At the state level, those states with a Republican legislature and governor can continue to reduce taxes and reform government to attract talent, investment (and electoral votes) from blue states to red states."

Chat GPT

"The next two years are not about passing legislation. They are for highlighting the costs and damage of Democrat proposals and focusing voters on the agenda available only if the GOP wins the House and Senate in 2028.
"On Tuesday, the Republican Party lost its majorities in the House and Senate, four Governorships, a dozen state legislative chambers including both houses in Arizona, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin, the Pennsylvania Senate, and the House in Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Alaska, and even Texas. This hands Democrats control of a majority of the nation’s legislative chambers and new trifectas in at least five states. Democrats now hold 51 chambers, up from 29 when Trump won in 2016.
"President Trump’s approval rating was 39 percent.
"If the Democrats elect a president in 2028, they can end the filibuster with a simple majority in the Senate and then proceed to add an unlimited number of states to the 50 we have now, add as many Supreme Court members as they wish, and organize immigration and naturalization laws to add as many voters as they wish from whatever nations they wish. (RELATED: Here Come the Court-Packing Democrats)
"Democrats can and will nationalize health care, ban independent contractors (as California has done), repeal Right to Work for all Americans, and impose the PRO Act that will force more workers to pay dues to unions that can then be recycled to the Democrat Party and its candidates.
"And Democrats will certainly impose a national property (“wealth”) tax on your home, your life savings, farms, and small businesses. They tried this in California this past week. They lost. But they want your money. They will be back.
"Tort laws will be “liberalized” to create more billionaire trial lawyers (read Democrat donors). And welfare will be targeted to Democrat voting blocs to free up their time to work for the “common good” — i.e., the various factions of the Takings Coalition that is the modern Democrat Party.
"America would become a one-party state for all intents and purposes.
"This future is not inevitable." . . . More.

We will kill Trump: Iran's giant billboard shows US President behind bars in Tehran

India Today

"A billboard reading “We Will Kill Trump” appeared in Tehran on Tuesday, marking the latest display denouncing the president amid renewed diplomatic efforts and targeted defense strikes in the Strait of Hormuz on the eve of the U.S. midterms, which officials have called limited.

"Iran displayed an explicit death threat against Donald Trump on a massive Tehran billboard. The new threats come amid reports of preparations for possible fresh US-Israeli strikes against Iran following the November 3 US midterm elections." . . .

. . . Another billboard nearby features Trump alongside US Vice-President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. All four are portrayed with bloodied faces and torn suits, set against the backdrop of battered American and Israeli flags."

Philadelphia anti-Israel groups to stage ‘boycott ride’ past Jewish-owned restaurants on eve of Kristallnacht anniversary

Philadelphia anti-Israel groups are planning a bicycle ride targeting Jewish-owned businesses on the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the 1938 Nazi-orchestrated pogrom against Jews in Germany and Austria.

The “Boycott Ride,” organized by Philly Bike On Your Left in collaboration with Philly Writers Against the War on Gaza, Boycott CookNSolo and Philly Solidarity Calendar, is scheduled for Nov. 8 at 11:30 a.m. at Rittenhouse Square in the heart of Center City. A flier promoting the event states, “No business for Zionists,” adding, “These Zionist establishments must go.”

The flier names several Philadelphia businesses, including Dizengoff, a modern Israeli restaurant; Huda, a sandwich shop; Schlesinger’s Restaurant and Delicatessen, a Jewish deli; Mac Mart, a macaroni-and-cheese kiosk; K’Far Cafe, an Israeli cafe; and Goldie, a kosher falafel shop.

“Ride around Rittenhouse with us as we show these zio business owners that we see them for the disgusting humans they are,” organizers wrote.

"Meet Philadelphia cyclist Hara Aslav, who is organizing a boycott of the city's Jewish restaurants this Sunday (November 8). "The very next day marked the anniversary of Kristallnacht, when Nazi mobs smashed the windows of thousands of Jewish-owned businesses and looted their stores. "Absurd."

After the Temple Israel attack, the cameras left, but the hate remains - Israel & Jewish News - JNS . . ."On March 12, my 4-year-old daughter and her little brother, who was 2 at the time, were at their preschool at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Mich., when a terrorist drove a pickup truck loaded with 35 gallons of gasoline and thousands of dollars’ worth of commercial-grade fireworks through the main entrance.

"As he drove down the hallway, he fired an AR-15-style rifle into the classrooms. He struck the head of security with his truck, eventually getting the vehicle stuck a mere 30 feet from where a group of children was sheltered in the gym area. The security team engaged him as the truck caught fire and thick black smoke poured through the building.

"The terrorist did not survive. Every one of the 140 children and staff did, but they will never be the same." . . .

. . . "But we are still here. Our children are still here. And unfortunately, so is the hate. Whoever is elected on Nov. 3, we must do better.".  More.

The attack on SpaceX

Do they want to nationalize it to end Twitter or to end the space program again?"

Don Surber

"The reason for the loony move to stop our space program in the 1970s was to protect the Soviet Union from our domination. Now the Democrat objective is protecting Red China from competition. They want to buy SpaceX just to destroy it."

"Communist-in-conservative clothing Jonathan V. Last, editor of the Bulwark, has joined Munchkin Robert Reich, a former labor secretary, in calling for the nationalization of Space X." . . .
. . . "Last denies this is about Musk, writing, “we should divorce the person of Elon Musk from this conversation. Musk is a uniquely dangerous individual and the fact that he controls SpaceX increases the national security risks. But the risks would still exist no matter who controlled the company. Imagine a wise, beneficent trillionaire instead. If he controlled SpaceX outright, it would still be an unacceptable risk for America.”
"But Last is not calling for the nationalization of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, or RTX (née Raytheon), all of which are much more vital to the defense of our nation.
"He is calling for nationalizing the company that owns Twitter. Musk bought it, renamed it X and made it part of SpaceX. That in hindsight was a genius move because any attempt to nationalize SpaceX now becomes a First Amendment issue.
"There is a Fifth Amendment issue as well—“nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.” Where will Congress find the $2 trillion to take Space X?
"Twitter may be the real target of their disaffection.
"When Musk bought Twitter, Last wrote, “For years I’ve tried arguing my friends off of Twitter. I’ve appealed to their intellects, their decency, the fate of their eternal souls, and their time management compulsions. It’s never worked. I have not talked a single person off of Twitter." . . . More.

From Golden State to Blackout State

 Foundation for Economic Education

"Reducing greenhouse gases is important but so is energy reliability.  . . . Allowing contracts with these generators to expire based on optimistic projections increases the risks of rolling blackouts."

"California’s energy policies risk blackouts.

"This state is so determined to fulfill its dream of a zero-emissions power grid that it’s willing to risk future blackouts. On paper, California will have sufficient energy resources even with the decision to shutter three aging natural gas generating units. But only if the weather cooperates.

"By the end of 2045, “renewable energy resources and zero-carbon resources” must “supply 100% of retail sales of electricity to California end-use customers and 100% of electricity procured to serve all state agencies” under Senate bill 100 (2018).

"To reach this target and maintain reliability, the state has been pairing solar power plants with battery backup systems. If all works as planned, the solar plants will provide electricity during the day, and the battery backup systems keep the lights on in the high-use evening hours when solar generators go dark.

"As this strategy has been unfolding, policymakers realized more backup reserves were needed to avoid rolling blackouts. Three legacy generating units that were scheduled to be closed in Ormond Beach, Alamitos and Huntington Beach facilities were temporarily extended.

"Now believing California’s battery backup system provides a sufficient buffer, the California Energy Commission has chosen not to renew the contracts for these older units, which will expire at the end of December.

"The retiring gas plants were undoubtedly old and inefficient. Still, Californians may soon miss the lost dispatchable power sources. California Energy Commission Vice Chair Siva Gunda might believe “we’re looking good,” but such optimism requires a sideways look at the facts.

"The state endured the heat of 2026, challenged on Sept. 9 by the largest daily power demand since 2022, without resorting to emergency measures. The governor’s office called it “a major milestone in California’s nation-leading clean energy buildout.”

"Maybe officials have known what they’re doing all along. That’s one way to look at it." . . .

Bored Of Having A Good State, Texas Considers Voting Democrat | Babylon Bee

AUSTIN, TX — Bored of having a good state that people love, Texans have reportedly flocked to the polls in record numbers to try voting Democrat for a change.
"According to sources, voters believe Texas has had it good for far too long. "We're the envy of most states, and everyone wants to move here. I'm sick of it!" said Duke "Big Bull" Clayton. "It's become so dull, having freedom and a growing economy. We need a change of pace, something to really make our lives miserable."
"According to polls, Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico has built a significant lead and the race for governor is now a toss-up. "Texas voters are fed up with their state not being awful," said Democratic operative Sandra O'Dell. "They're ready to send a message to the folks in Austin: make our state really bad. What an exciting time to be a Texan."
"'Ooo, fun!" said Becky Carlyle, a Texas native from College Station. "I've always wanted to see what it would be like if our state was terrible and made you want to flee. Yippee!"
"Incumbent Governor Greg Abbott has continued to campaign hard into the final stretch, as a seemingly surefire race turned into a dead heat. "Texas is a great state and everyone wants to move here," said Abbott at a campaign stop, where he was met with a chorus of boos.
"'Booo! Boo prosperity and low taxes! Boo!" shouted the crowd.
""What is even happening here?" sighed a bewildered Abbott.
"At publishing time, California transplants had reported that Texas was really starting to feel more like home."

Aber Kawas wins New York Senate seat, celebrates with Palestinian flag

 MSN

"Kawas has made history in New York’s 12th Senate District. The more lasting story will be how she uses the office she has won."

Note her pro-Hamas dress

"For supporters, the outcome expands representation in a legislature that makes decisions on housing, transit, education, health care and immigration-related state policy. It also places a Palestinian American progressive in an elected office at a time when the Israel-Gaza war and U.S. policy toward the region remain emotionally and politically charged issues. The post that drew attention
"In an X post highlighted by the Daily Caller and republished by WorldNetDaily, Kawas wrote, “We made history,” followed by a Palestinian flag emoji. Neither account quoted a separate American flag emoji or image in that post.
"The absence of an American flag became the central framing of the coverage. That is different from evidence that Kawas denounced the United States or said an American flag should not have been used; the reporting supplied does not establish either claim.
"Still, symbols carry meaning beyond the text around them. Critics can read the post as an omission from an American officeholder celebrating an American election. Supporters can read the Palestinian flag as a direct acknowledgment of the community and heritage tied to a first-of-its-kind win.
"Both readings explain why a four-word message attracted more attention than many longer election-night statements do.
"What remains unclear is whether Kawas intended the flag as an exclusive political statement, a personal marker of identity, or simply the most immediate expression of what the moment represented to her.
"Representation and patriotism collide Public officials are often expected to communicate several identities at once: the neighborhood they represent, the country whose laws they serve, their party, faith, family history and heritage.
"Those expectations do not always fit neatly into a single post.
"For Palestinian Americans, public displays of Palestinian identity have taken on heightened resonance amid the war in Gaza and fierce debate in the United States over speech, protest and foreign policy.
"A Palestinian flag can signal heritage, solidarity, mourning, political advocacy or some combination of those things, depending on the speaker and audience." . . .

For many Jewish Michigan voters, El-Sayed’s justification for synagogue attack unforgivable

El-Sayed’s win changes the conversation on Israel — and Israel’s relationship with US Jews

RealityBites

"Just four years ago, if a US Senate candidate had said it was “unfortunate” that Jewish voters wouldn’t accuse Israel of genocide, it would have likely driven weeks of headlines.

The same goes for the prospect of an aspiring senator who vowed to block offensive arms sales to Israel.

On Tuesday, both such candidates — Maine’s Troy Jackson and Texas’s James Talarico — won their races, part of the Democrats’ sweep of the US midterm elections. Yet their comments hardly registered, because both were far from the most extreme Democratic critic of Israel to win election.

That title goes to Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed of Michigan. His positions have been covered exhaustively during a bruising primary and general election: He constantly accuses Israel of genocide and says US tax dollars shouldn’t be spent to “drop bombs on other people’s kids” — a reference to US military aid.

He has disparaged the very idea of a Jewish state, and has said Israel is not a US ally. He has said money is the only reason a Democrat who “believes in human rights” would support Israel. In a recent interview, he scoffed at the idea of limiting a Palestinian state to the West Bank and Gaza, suggesting Palestinians should get parts, or all, of Israel proper." . . .More.

For many Jewish Michigan voters, El-Sayed’s justification for synagogue attack unforgivable   . . . "The Jewish member of the University of Michigan’s Board of Regents did end up reaching a decision, but he declines to share how he cast his ballot, citing the election’s extreme divisiveness.

“This election has been enormously painful for Michigan’s Jewish community. We’ve been divided in lots of different pieces by lots of different candidates,” says Acker in an interview from his law office outside of Detroit, noting that a majority of the state’s Jews are Democrats and that those voters largely did not back El-Sayed in the primary.

The most decisive factor in their decision-making was El-Sayed’s response to a terror attack on a nearby synagogue earlier this year.

El-Sayed issued a statement in which he said that there could be no justification for the targeting of Temple Israel, but went on to explain that “hurt people hurt people.”

The progressive Democrat eventually apologized for the remark, but largely for its timing, as opposed to its substance.

So while the Jewish community in Michigan overwhelmingly came out in support of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris two years ago, Acker expected a much more even split in today’s Senate race.

“For a lot of Jewish Michiganders, ‘Hurt people hurt people’ was an unforgivable way to talk about us,” he says." . . .

For many Jewish Michigan voters, El-Sayed’s justification for synagogue attack unforgivable

. . . "El-Sayed’s win may have shifted one more factor that Israelis scrutinize: the Jewish vote.

"US Jews have voted in large majorities for Democrats for about a century, and most American Jews support Israel’s existence as a Jewish state, even if they object to its prime minister and many of its policies." . . .

"Until recently, these stances didn’t present a contradiction at the ballot box. Most Democratic officials were pro-Israel, so Jews could vote their liberal values while also feeling confident that their representatives and senators supported Israel’s existence and safety.

"This year, in Michigan, Jewish voters had to choose. Their options were a pro-Trump Republican who supports Israel, and a progressive Democrat who opposes the country. Early returns suggest that the vote was close, but that El-Sayed won a slim majority of Jewish voters — 57 percent." . . .

. . . "The committee has broad authority to call witnesses, request government documents and issue subpoenas.

Before the polls opened, Democrats had threatened to indict Donald Trump and his associates over allegations of corruption.

Mr Garcia pledged that, should the Democrats win, he would lead investigations into: Elon Musk’s role in the former department of government efficiency; Mr Trump and his family’s business dealings; abuses allegedly committed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE); and the Epstein files.

He made an unannounced visit to an ICE processing centre in California on Oct 16, where he promised to “demand accountability” for the agency’s tactics." . . .

Netanyahu Grabbed Trump By The P*ssy - The Recriminations Column

Ann Coulter
"I haven’t left as much room as I’d like for recriminations, so I’ll just list a few of the biggest fanboys for the war that has failed in every way possible, making Iran stronger, the U.S. weaker, and—for the cherry on top—delivering a generational blow to the GOP and driving support for Israel to unimaginable, historic lows." Ouch.

"Remember the guy who tried to kill a spider with a blowtorch and burned his house down? (The correct answer is: Which one? Yes, it’s happened multiple times.) That will be today’s theme.
"Our most urgent task after the midterms is to create a list of everyone who supported the Iran War so we’ll know who to never, ever, ever, ever trust again. Pending a full accounting, here are the top two: Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, and Rupert Murdoch — still alive as of this writing — patriarch of Fox News and The New York Post.
"It may be unfair to blame Netanyahu, since it obviously doesn’t matter who the prime minister is. Israelis overwhelmingly support the war and worship Trump for pursuing it.
"Let’s see how much they love this: eighty percent of the party that’s about to control Congress has an unfavorable view of Israel. (And the other 20% is fanatically anti-Israel.)
"The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and closely affiliated United Democracy Project (UDP) spent an estimated $45 million to defeat Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan—who famously refused to answer whether Israel or Iran was a bigger threat to the U.S. That money became toxic, driving support for El-Sayed. He will now be the first Muslim United States senator.
"As some of us warned you from the beginning, the war was going to be very bad for our country, bad for the GOP—and bad for Israel. That’s why a lot of people who appreciate Israel’s core values were among those issuing this warning. But war supporters apparently felt their strongest counter-argument was to scream about antisemitism.
"Mark Levin, whom Murdoch has given his own show for some reason, called war opponents the “Woke Reich” driven by a “hatred of Jews” who are “ok with Iran and Putin” and act as “the modern-day appeasers of Hitler in the 1930s.” . . . More.
