So much for Obama, Hillary and Democrats bringing us a peaceful world where nations respect the US.

140307-reset-19th-century
Chip Bok; Reset to the 19th Century     "Secretary of State Kerry feels President Putin’s “19th century” behavior is not up to G-8 elite standards.
This isn’t Putin’s first rodeo when it comes to dropping in uninvited on his neighbors. He invaded Georgia on President Bush’s watch in August 2008. Like the current Crimea crises, Bush didn’t do much to stop it.
"Then came Hillary’s “Reset”, or Overcharge."

The U.S. retreats: History tells us who will fill the vacuum  ... "But Obama deserves more credit for good intentions and intellectual consistency. His foreign policy does have a theory. He believes that as U.S. power retreats from the world, a variety of good things will fill the vacuum. Allies and international institutions will take more responsibility. The United States will be better able to promote liberal norms, unburdened by discrediting military power."
....
"The problem is this: When enlightened liberal norms are divorced from U.S. power, liberal norms do not win out. The vacuum is filled by...."

OK, OK, maybe we can't be the world's policeman, but the question has been asked, what if there are world criminals?
History tells us that things will have to get much, much worse for the free world before our people develop the will to stand up to oppressive factions. Especially now that so many on our campuses have learned that Marxism and Islam are superior to what we used to call "the American Way".
In the 1930s, Hitler had told the world what he would do to those he conquered; we saw him breaking treaties and threatening his neighbors. We saw his army grow and heard his venom being preached. Yet any steps taken to prepare our military for resisting Nazism were met with cries of "warmonger", encouraged by the political left.
Even a president with more character and courage will face the same resistance from today's left, which forced even President Bush to give in to their causes.
Democrats will have to be opposed by Republicans who can lead in the face of a culture that fears the world's bullies and will have to be taught once again that we are the "good guys", standing against the Scut Farkuses of this world. TD
Which of these philosophies will keep us safe?

There’s no racist like a liberal racist

CrusaderRabbit  Pat Condell says,"A progressive is what happens when a liberal goes bad."

Alan Caruba; Democrat Climate Caucus Reveals Its Stupidity

"On Monday, March 10, some twenty of them will stay up overnight on the Senate floor, according to The Hill, “to bring attention to the impacts of climate change.”  You don’t get more idiotic than that. Climate, measured in decades and centuries, is always in a state of change. Meanwhile, the weather anywhere in the nation, determined by the changing seasons and responsive only to short-range forecasts, has turned colder thanks to a cooling cycle that is now into its 17th year."
....
"So, while the twenty or so desperate Democrats gather all night, keep in mind that (1) there has been no global warming since 1997, (2) more than 31,000 scientists have signed a petition saying humans are not causing global warming, (3) Arctic ice is up 50% since 2012, and (4) every one of the climate computer models predicting warmth has been wrong over and over again."

Media Bows to Obama

Neal Boortz   .... "How?  Just how is the media paying 0bama back for their offensive 0bamacare reporting?  How do we know the media is back on track promoting the Democrat big-government mantra?  Look at the reporting on income equality --- and there you have it.
"Virtually everywhere you turn you’ll see stories in newspapers, on television and on radio about the scourge of income inequality.  Toss in the mindless Hollywood crowd and academia – professor-types generally unprepared to earn a living in the private sector – and you have one of the most intensive efforts to carry the Democrat’s message I’ve seen in decades."

U.S State Dept: No Need For Palestinian Authority To Recognize Israel [as a Jewish state]

Weasel Zippers   "Psaki, who spoke to the PA-based Arabic-language Al-Quds newspaper, said, “The American position is clear, Israel is a Jewish state. However, we do not see a need that both sides recognize this position as part of the final agreement.”

"Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has been adamant on the PA recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, explaining that the Arabs’ refusal to recognize Israel stands at the heart of the conflict.
....
"Secretary of State John Kerry, who has made it his mission to achieve a peace agreement, is currently working on a framework that will allow him to continue the talks past the April deadline that has been set."

Consider Obama's choices of people: What Do John Kerry, Chuck Hagel, and John Brennan Have in Common?   ... "With President Obama and his three wise men, who might supervise U.S. foreign defense and intelligence policy towards the Middle East, we can expect more “engagement” with radical Islamic and jihadist movements, several of which have ascended to power during Obama’s first term, no deterring of Iran from crossing the nuclear threshold and more “daylight” between Washington and Jerusalem."

Alan Caruba: Some Very Good News About Americans

"We are all besieged daily by bad news. It is easy to become depressed about the present state of the nation, but there is some very good news as well."
....
"What is rarely addressed is the seething power of American entrepreneurship which, at present, is trapped by a largely socialist federal government imposing a mountain of regulations that thwart growth and take money from the private sector that would otherwise be invested in the creation or expansion of business and industry nationwide."
....
"As one reads Dr. Baker’s book, one comes away with a renewed confidence in the judgment of Americans, confirming that their core values are those that have made America a beacon of freedom in the world."

The book must address only those who fear and oppose this President, not those smiling, cheering faces at Obama campaign-style speeches that put him into office a second time. But the book seems to give one a sense of assurance that has been missing since the 2012 election.

The Obama Administration’s 8 Most Naïve Statements About Russia

"The Obama administration’s Russia policy is in disarray. The 2009 “reset” exists now only as a joke. Russia continues to back Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, and it has violated Ukraine’s sovereignty by placing troops in Crimea.
As Russia acts apparently with little fear of Western retaliation and with disregard for American dissatisfaction, here is a look back on the eight most naïve statements Obama and administration officials have made about Russia."  Full article.

Islamic Jihad and the Doctrine of Abrogation

Opened_Qur'an

"While other scriptures contain contradictions, the Koran is the only holy book whose commentators have evolved a doctrine to account for the very visible shifts which occur from one injunction to another. No careful reader will remain unaware of the many contradictory verses in the Koran, most specifically the way in which peaceful and tolerant verses lie almost side by side with violent and intolerant ones. ...To get out of this quandary, the commentators developed the doctrine of abrogation, which essentially maintains that verses revealed later in Muhammad’s career take precedence over earlier ones whenever there is a discrepancy.
....
"But why the contradiction in the first place? The standard view is that in the early years of Islam, since Muhammad and his community were far outnumbered by their infidel competitors while living next to them in Mecca, a message of peace and coexistence was in order. However, after the Muslims migrated to Medina in 622 and grew in military strength, verses inciting them to go on the offensive were slowly “revealed”—in principle, sent down from Allah—always commensurate with Islam’s growing capabilities."

Explaining how Muslims are good citizens until they form a majority. At that point they seem to me to become as conquerors. TD

Legal Insurrection   "It’s difficult to say, but I vote ever-so-slightly for “true.” My opinion of John Kerry is very low, but I think more of him than I do of Obama.
"The following seems quite characteristic of the president:" ...

... "Such behavior would certainly be consistent with Obama’s arrogance, his go-it-alone sense of self, and his disregard for the ideas of others except for a few extremely trusted advisors. He has alienated even many of his friends and supporters—certainly quite a few of the Democrats in Congress—on a personal level by having very little to do with them, not asking their advice, and not even letting them know what he’s planning before he does it.

"It’s well-known that Obama thinks he’s smarter than anyone around him, and it isn’t even a point of view he tries to hide." Full article

The author,Neo-neocon: "Previously a lifelong Democrat, born in New York and living in New England, surrounded by liberals on all sides, I’ve found myself slowly but surely leaving the fold and becoming that dread thing: a neocon. My friends and family don’t want to hear about my inexplicable conversion, so I started this blog to tell the tale of my political change and provide a forum for others." ...More at the linkAbout the apple.
