Tonight: Clinton, Sanders To Debate After Splitting* Contests

Yeshiva News  . . . "For Clinton, that means bolstering her appeal with minorities, particularly black and Hispanic voters. Hours before the debate, a coalition of black lawmakers endorsed her, calling her a long-term partner who understands racial divides in America.

“ 'African-Americans can’t wait for solutions — they need results now,” Clinton said in a statement welcoming the backing of the Congressional Black Caucus’ political action committee." . . .

"Clinton so far holds a commanding lead in the overall delegate race due to her strong support from superdelegates, the party officials who can back the candidate of their choice.

"Overall, Clinton has 394 delegates Sanders has 44. It takes 2,382 to win the Democratic nomination for president."  Emphasis added. TD

Hillary and Goldman Sachs

. . . "She is so surrounded by sycophants and so contemptuous of those who criticize her that she is unaware of how damaging her secrecy will be."
Hillary’s no-win situation at Goldman Sachs worsening as content of her paid speeches leaking out  "Poor Hillary! It turns out that there is a price to being a lying hypocrite.  That’s just so unfair. After all, Bill got away with posing as a feminist champion while assaulting, groping, and exploiting women for decades.  But when Hillary tries to match Bernie Sanders on a comparable pose as anti-Wall Street, she gets herself in a no-win situation.

"Goldman Sachs people are leaking out what she said in her $675,000 worth of three paid speeches, and it is now clear that releasing the transcripts of her talks will expose her hypocrisy. But of course, refusing to release them raises all sorts of worse suspicions. Shades of Nixon’s missing 13 minutes of tape.

"Ben White of Politico reports on the leaks from Goldman:. . . "

Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

Madame Hillary's protection not so effective . .. . "But such miraculous windfalls for the Clintons have been pooh-poohed by the Democrat establishment and the media, who slobber like Pavlov's dogs when they hear "President Hillary."  Until now, that is.  The issue of Hillary's extortionist speaking fees is back in the news cycle, and this time it's not about the money...but, if you can believe it, the content of her speeches.  Hillary, who constantly bashes Wall Street as being the evil puppeteers who pull the economic strings of this nation to their constant advantage, apparently has been a bit duplicitous between her public denunciations and her more, shall we say, intimate dealings with Wall Street."

Hillary changed her tune during her concession speech Tuesday night, saying “no executive too powerful to jail.”
. . . "And Clinton’s change in wording -- Lord, how those Clintons love to parse* words -- followed by less than 48 hours release of an FBI letter confirming that it is investigating Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state.
. . . "Clinton, no doubt, was reacting to widespread commentary that her earlier declaration could actually be applied to, well, you know, uh … her." . . .

Rubio Is Right: Obama Is Betraying America

Noisy Room

". . . Those “populist rightwing parties” have their counterpart in the United States, in the form of the Donald J. Trump presidential campaign. Curiously, he is anti-Muslim immigrant while pro-Russian. The candidate who failed to understand a question about the nuclear triad during one debate seems willing to let Putin run rampant in the Middle East, oblivious to the fact that Russia is making the refugee problem Trump complains about far worse.
"Trump may not know what’s he’s saying or doing, but Obama clearly does. He cut a nuclear deal with Iran that has emboldened the main allies of Russia in the Middle East.
“ 'Without Washington’s interference,” reports Avi Issacharoff, the Middle East analyst for The Times of Israel, “Moscow continues its incessant bombing of Aleppo, killing hundreds of innocent civilians. And Iran is taking over large parts of Syria and in the future may establish strongholds that will threaten Israel, whether in northwestern Syria or in its next target, the Deraa area close to the border with Israel and Jordan.”
"Rubio kept saying, “Let’s dispel once and for all with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing.”
"Rubio keeps saying this because it’s true. " . . .

SCOTUS Stops Obama’s Clean Power Plan

A Croc

"Once again the judiciary stops Obama’s runaway regulatory state."

Legal Insurrection  "Yet another Obama administration initiative was halted by the U.S. Supreme Court this week. The Clean Power Plan (CPP) was a far-reaching effort by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to control greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired power plants under the Clean Air Act (CAA). If implemented, the CPP would have closed hundreds of coal-fired plants across the country and increased the production of wind and solar power, which are significantly more expensive to produce.

"The CPP was challenged in  court by energy companies, industry groups, and a coalition of 29 states, led by West Virginia. The litigants filed multiple applications for a stay, which would block the CPP from being implemented while the case proceeded.
. . .
"In a follow-up article at the Post, Adler described the legal challenges as attacking the EPA not just for improperly exercising their legal authority, but as arguing that the EPA lacked any authority to impose the CPP in the first place:
It is not only the most ambitious climate-related initiative undertaken by the EPA, but it also relies upon unprecedented assertions of legal authority. And, to be clear, by “unprecedented” I mean just that — without precedent. This is not the same thing as saying that a specific argument or action is unlawful or wrong, only that it raises new legal questions that courts have not had cause to answer before.

Hillary and the Suspension of Disbelief

Victor Davis Hanson

"In a September 2007 congressional inquiry about the ongoing surge in Iraq, then Senator Hillary Clinton all but called Gen. David Petraeus a liar. After Petraeus gave a cautiously optimistic—and prescient—appraisal of the growing quiet in Iraq, Clinton curtly dismissed him with the literary term “suspension of disbelief,” which describes the creation of a fantasy world.

"Clinton sarcastically rebutted Petraeus’s quite accurate data with the curt dismissal, “I think that the reports that you provide to us really require the willing suspension of disbelief.”

But Iraq was no make-believe place. Petraeus went on to quiet Iraq and it stayed that way until President Obama, with eyes on the 2012 election, yanked all peacekeepers out in December 2011—with the full support of Hillary Clinton.
"In ironic fashion, Hillary’s own vocabulary best describes her conduct. A “willing suspension of disbelief” most aptly sums up Hillary Clinton’s disastrous 2016 primary campaign, which so far seems more disastrous than her 2008 disastrous campaign." . . .

Weasels Of The Week Nominees! – 02/09/16

http://i2.wp.com/c1.staticflickr.com/1/89/256833910_dc5e794df2.jpg?w=540Noisy Room   "It’s time once again for the Watcher’s Council’s ‘Weasel Of The Week’ nominations, where we pick our choices to compete for the award of the famed Golden Weasel to a public figure who particularly deserves to be slimed and mocked for his or her dastardly deeds during the week. Every Tuesday morning, tune in for the Weasel of the Week nominations!
"Here are this weeks’ nominees…"
Superbowl Duo Beyonce and Mooch-elle Obama!!

"My nomination goes to a duo… Michelle Obama and Beyonce. I think I may gag. I watched Beyonce’s new video released for the Superbowl halftime show in honor of Black Lives Matter. It is the raunchiest, most vile, racist piece of crap I have ever seen and that’s saying something. No wonder Michelle Obama loves it and adores Beyonce. She dressed for Beyonce’s approval of all things. I can’t repeat here what I think of both of them. CBS did an interview with the Obama’s that was inane and nothing short of a sickening lovefest. And it gets worse… Mooch dressed in all black, ostensibly in symbolic allegiance with the Black Panthers and blacks in general. Americans are outraged that the Super Bowl halftime show was allowed to be hijacked for political purposes and given a racist, black power theme. But is anyone surprised? Me either.

The Ultra-sensitive Baby Killing Warriors At NARAL!!

http://i0.wp.com/cmgajcbuzz.files.wordpress.com/2016/02/ultra.png?resize=400%2C250

" . . ." nominee for Weasel of the Week would have to be the far-left, militant pro-abortion group NARAL (National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League) for their epic intersectional meltdown on Twitter over a Doritos Super Bowl ad that featured a pregnant woman receiving an ultrasound. NARAL was severely “microaggressed” over the Dororitos commercial for deploying the ever-dreaded “antichoice” tactic of “humanizing fetuses.” Apparently human fetuses are too humany, or something."

Defender of the Faith, President Barack Hussein Obama!!

"President Obama went to a mosque, not a big deal except that the mosque he gave a speech from has some issues."

Lovely Calais, France. Peaceful and lovely, until....

France: A resident of Calais describes how cultural enrichment actually works
photo: undefined

Ca·lais    (kă-lā′, kăl′ā)

Wikipedia . . . "The population of the metropolitan area at the 2010 census was 126,395. Calais overlooks the Strait of Dover, the narrowest point in the English Channel, which is only 34 km (21 mi) wide here, and is the closest French town to England. The White Cliffs of Dover can easily be seen on a clear day from Calais. Calais is a major port for ferries between France and England, and since 1994, the Channel Tunnel has linked nearby Coquelles to Folkestone by rail.
Calais is located in France
"Due to its position, Calais since the Middle Ages has been a major port and a very important centre for transport and trading with England. It was annexed by Edward III of England in 1347 and grew into a thriving centre for wool production. Calais was a territorial possession of England until its capture by France in 1558. The town came to be called the "brightest jewel in the English crown" owing to its great importance as the gateway for the tinleadlace and wool trades (or "staples"). In 1805 it was a staging area for Napoleon's troops for several months during his planned invasion of the United Kingdom. The town was virtually razed to the ground during World War II, when in May 1940, it was a strategic bombing target of the invading German forces who took the town during the Siege of Calais. During World War II, the Germans built massive bunkers along the coast in preparation for launching missiles on England."  (Defending Calais)
Hotel DeVille
. . . . . . "Many artists have been inspired by its landscapes, among them the composer Henri Dutilleux, the writers Victor Hugo and Charles Dickens, and the painters J. M. W. TurnerCarolus-DuranMaurice Boitel and Eugène Boudin. It was the painter Édouard Lévêque who coined the name for this area in 1911 to describe the distinctive quality of its light." . . .

A resident of Calais describes how cultural enrichment actually works  . . . "this was recorded on the 7 February 2016  during a day at Rungis (10 km outside of Paris because Patriots did not get permission to demonstrate in Paris). There were 12 speakers, one of them was SIMONE HÉRICOURT, a native of Calais. This woman touched the room, describing what Calais was before the “Jungle”. Now violent Illegals make life hell for Salesians. They feel (and ARE) abandoned by the Government and live in fear.
This, to me, seems a microcosm (albeit a rather big one with 18,000 illegals living in the Jungle) of what is now happening in Europe and will happen globally if we cannot stop it.  The speech is relatively long at 1/4 of an hour, but it is so raw and authentic that’s probably why I became the most poignant moment of that day  for the people in the salle, despite 11 other speakers of high caliber.

Would that we could all feel that this were so:

Reprise: You Cannot Support Israel’s Existence (and Ours) and Vote Democrat This Election

"I see no sign that either of the Democratic candidates or their party departs from this racist, pro-Moslem nonsense, and every indication that a vote for them will simply continue the Obama path toward more chaos and terrorist violence in the Middle East and here."
Clarice Feldman

. . . "Haney’s revelation came just days after the president visited a terrorism-linked mosque contrary to the FBI’s suggestion that he not do so. Powerline details the mosque’s history, which the Washington Post airbrushed out of the picture:
Post readers are never informed that things at the mosque aren’t quite that simple.
As Scott has pointed out, just a few years ago the FBI was monitoring this mosque as a breeding ground for terrorists, after arresting a member for plotting to blow up a federal building. Agents secretly recorded a number of conversations with a 25-year-old Muslim convert -- Antonio Martinez, aka Muhammad Hussain -- and other Muslims who worshiped there. According to the criminal complaint, Martinez said he knew “brothers” who could supply him weapons and propane tanks.
Among other things during his visit Obama preposterously thanked Moslems and suggested “Islam has always been part of America”. Covering this event, Robert Spencer could hardly contain himself:
When Barack Obama visited the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Islamic Society of Baltimore on Wednesday, he said: “The first thing I want to say is two words that Muslim Americans don’t hear often enough: Thank you.”
While Obama has been President, Muslims have murdered non-Muslims, avowedly in the cause of Islam, at Fort Hood, Boston, Chattanooga, and San Bernardino, and attempted to do so in many, many other places. Imagine if armed Baptists screaming “Jesus is Lord” had committed murder, and explained that they were doing so in order to advance Christianity, in four American cities, and had attempted to do so in many others. Imagine that those killers were supporters of a global Christian movement that had repeatedly called for attacks on U.S. civilians and declared its determination to destroy the United States.
Imagine how incongruous it would be in that case for the President of the United States to visit a church and say: “The first thing I want to say is two words that Christian Americans don’t hear often enough: Thank you.” And imagine how unlikely it would be that Barack Obama would ever have done that.
. . . "Caroline Glick sees in this visit a pattern for Obama’s last year in office
Obama’s apologetics for radical Islamists is the flipside of his hostility for Israel. This too is escalating and will continue to rise through the end of his tenure in office.

Anger: Anti-Beyonce Rally Planned For Next Week At NFL Headquarters

Political Cartoons by Michael Ramirez
CBS New York  . . . "Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told CBS2 that the NFL should have canceled her appearance.
“ 'I found the entire show objectionable. It was extolling the Black Panthers who were a terrorist organization, killing police officers in the 60s and 70s,” King said.  A protest is even being held against Beyonce next week outside NFL’s headquarters in New York.
"According to an Event Brite page, an Anti-Beyonce Protest rally will be held Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
“ Are you offended as an American that Beyoncé pulled her race-baiting stunt at the Superbowl? Do you agree that it was a slap in the face to law enforcement? Do you agree that the Black Panthers was/is a hate group which should not be glorified? Come and let’s stand together. Let’s tell the NFL we don’t want hate speech & racism at the Superbowl ever again!” the page reads.
"Despite the criticism, Beyonce has seen her share of supporters for her performance. Black Lives Matter activist Melina Abdullah praised her for being like artists who “are willing to raise social consciousness and use their artistry to advance social justice.' ” . . .  Obama's America

BLACK ACTIVIST GROUP IN CHICAGO DEMANDS REPARATIONS FOR SLAVERY

Beyoncé's 'black power' salute during Super Bowl 50 halftime show slammed by Rudy Giuliani as 'attack' on police“This is football, not Hollywood, and I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people who protect her and protect us, and keep us alive,” Giuliani said.

“And what we should be doing in the African-American community, and all communities, is build up respect for police officers. And focus on the fact that when something does go wrong, OK, we’ll work on that. But the vast majority of police officers risk their lives to keep us safe,” he said."

Madeline Albright Hurts Clinton’s Campaign — but Not for the Reason You Think

Fiscal Times  "Hillary Clinton is struggling to connect with young women voters, so she has brought in… Madeleine Albright? Enlisting the 78-year-old to chase millennials may seem far-fetched, but it’s a gift to voters and to the GOP. Just as Hillary’s claims of advocacy for women encouraged criticism of her husband’s sexual misadventures, trotting out Bill Clinton’s former Secretary of State allows us to revisit how her husband’s presidency all but ignored the brewing Islamic jihad against the U.S.
"Hillary Clinton offers her husband’s time in office as a halcyon time of peace and prosperity. The truth is that Bill Clinton, like President Obama, made a cataclysmic choice early on that has cost this country untold amounts of blood and treasure. That choice was to ignore the numerous attacks on Americans by Islamic radicals, a decision which served to embolden the jihadists behind 9/11. Like President Obama, Bill Clinton, distracted by endless scandals, led from behind."   Via Lucianne

So many Democrat posts we have to lump them into one link again

Political Cartoons by Steve Kelley
NY Times Magazine:  It’s Clinton Déjà Vu — New Hampshire Brings Snow and Rumors of Campaign Implosion  . . . " We’ve been here before. This is how it all rolls in the Clinton precincts of Blue America. The situation is so familiar to be its own Democratic Party cliché, like nominating unelectable liberals in the 1980s or engaging in nasty platform fights in the 1990s. Say this about the Clintons, for better or worse: They are predictable" . . .

Dick Morris: Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is falling apart. . . . "Clinton has no competing message, just the charge that Sanders’s supporters are “sexist and vulgar.” Brock adds that one of Sanders’s ads was racist because it had too many white people in it.
"Their strategy is laughable. After losing 84 percent of young voters in Iowa — and failing to recover them in New Hampshire — they sent in two aging fossils of feminism to insult and threaten young women." . . .

Hillary Clinton’s Campaign Demonstrates Its Contempt For America
"This isn’t news to anyone here. Hillary Clinton was at home serving in the Obama administration because she, like Obama, have an intense dislike of America and utter contempt for Americans who display any attachment to their home country. For them America is not hardworking men and women of every race and ethnicity who do their best to provide for their families and hold up their end of the bargain. For Hillary Clinton, America is a conglomeration of whiny, pissant special interest groups that can be played off against each other and who compete for government benefits and preferences.

The Biggest Winner from New Hampshire Was Hillary Clinton  . . . "Hillary Clinton’s unfavorability rating right now is at 52%, which is absolutely unprecedented for an expected nominee of one of the two major parties. There is no chance that someone with those kinds of ratings has any chance of winning in the general, if they are not an incumbent. The one and only exception to that rule would be if the nominee in question was running against someone who’s unfavorability rating of a whopping 60%, as Donald Trump is. There is absolutely no one Hillary wants to face more – including Ben Carson – than Donald Trump.

End of the Line for These Three Republicans?

NRO: How Long Should Christie, Fiorina, and Carson Stick Around?
. . . ""As the race goes on, primary voters tend to cluster around the front-runners. Comebacks are hard in presidential politics. "

RedState  "Sadly, it appears that New Hampshire may have muddied the GOP field, rather than clarifying it. Even though Kasich and Jeb do not have obvious paths forward to the nomination, they are going to convince themselves that they do, at least through Super Tuesday – and they will probably find donors who will indulge that belief. Somewhere, Donald Trump is smiling about it all.

"However, we can at the very least say “sayonara” to three Republicans who have absolutely no path forward after tonight, not even in their own heads. First of all is Ben Carson. After finishing a very distant fourth in Iowa, and dead last in New Hampshire, it is clear that Carson has absolutely no shot at the nomination. None. Zero. His polling is going into the toilet, he’s hemorrhaging the last of his legitimate campaign staff, and he’s in this for the sole reason of taking votes from Ted Cruz.
"The second is Carly Fiorina. Fiorina can’t make debate stages anymore, she can’t get traction in New Hampshire, she can’t even get on the media as a candidate. Fiorina might end up being a talented surrogate and maybe VP candidate for one of the candidates down the road, but the longer she stays in the race, the longer she takes votes from someone who might win, and thus diminishes her chances. I expect Fiorina will bow out soon.

I find it sad, having wanted to learn more of this dignified, articulate lady. If only we could replace Trump with her. TD
"The third is Chris Christie. Christie blew his entire wad on taking down Marco Rubio in the debate on Saturday night. I suspect Marco Rubio will bounce back, but Christie clearly made a dent for now. Unfortunately, Christie himself is an unlikable jackass, and whatever votes he pried away from Rubio went somewhere else as a consequence. . . .
