Woman Allegedly Burned Alive On Train By Illegal Migrant Finally Identified

 DC Enquirer   ["Allegedly?]

One feels for this lady and the children burned alive by Hamas
"Local law enforcement said they finally identified the woman burned alive while riding on a New York City subway car earlier in December, ending days of public speculation.

"Debrina Kawam, a 61-year-old woman from Toms River, New Jersey, is the individual who was burned alive while riding the F train in Brooklyn on the morning of Dec. 21, the New York Police Department (NYPD) confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation. The man charged with the attack is Sebastian Zapeta-Calil, a 33-year old previously deported Guatemalan national who is living in the United States unlawfully.

"After days of law enforcement failing to identify the victim and no apparent family or friends coming forward, some speculated that the victim may have been homeless. The NYPD on Tuesday gave no further details about Kawam beyond her name, age and home address.

"The gruesome details of the attack sparked national media coverage, and once again spotlighted the issue of illegal migrant crime in the U.S.

"Investigators believe Kawam was sleeping on the train when Zapeta walked up to her and used a match to light her clothes on fire, which quickly became fully engulfed in flames. The illegal migrant then allegedly remained on scene, sitting on a bench platform, to watch her die from her injuries.

“As the train pulled into the station, the suspect calmly walked up to the victim who was in a seated position at the end of the subway car,” New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated during a press conference shortly after the incident. “The suspect used what we believe to be a lighter to ignite the victim’s clothing, which became fully engulfed in a matter of seconds.”

"Local police who were on patrol at an upper level of that train station went to investigate after they smelled and saw smoke, according to Tisch, who described the attack  as “one of the most depraved crimes one person could possibly commit” against another human being. Upon their arrival to the scene, officers discovered the victim standing in the train fully engulfed in fire, and made attempts to put the fire out." . . .   More...

Y'All Got Took: There Was Never Going to Be Any 'Rebuilt' Pacific Palisades

 Hot Air

"Those who actually are 'rebuilding their lives' because of the fires are not going to qualify for what is being rebuilt. You just knew."

You knew in your heart of hearts from the very beginning.

"Even as you watched those first flames take the first houses and then leap up through the canyons and down through the hillsides, through the breaks, even jumping PCH to gobble up the houses tucked next to the highway itself - those uniquely SoCal structures sandwiched between the asphalt and that big, blue Pacific surf...you knew.

"You knew would never see it again, for all the gargoyle grin assurances of the mayor who couldn't be bothered to be there when the flames broke out. For all the slickster, huckstering, faux promises of a governor faking phone calls as he skittered like a cockroach from angry, heartbroken residents who only wanted answers.

"You knew.

"You knew when comedian turned prophet Adam Corolla went on an epic rant from a hotel room desk, a fire refugee himself waiting on word whether he had a home or not, telling you then and there if your home was gone, it was gone for good.

"Because Mayor Karen Bass, Governor Gavin Newsom, and the soul-crushing machinery of the State of California had the will and the power to ensure you would never rebuild, one way or the other." . . .

In a self-congratulatory moment, Newsom grandly announced his intentions to bring 'multifamily low-income housing development' to Pacific Palisades, Eaton, and Altadena, creating a more 'resilient and - keyword here - equitable Los Angeles.'

Think of the few beautiful homes that survived the inferno only to sit in this new development, walls covered with graffiti.   More...

Pam Bondi Says She Has ‘Every Intention to Stay and Serve’ Amid MAGA Backlash

RTM

Eric Daugherty
Dan Bongino will RESIGN from the FBI if Pam Bondi refuses to leave the DOJ, per Daily Wire "AG Bondi needs to think about this one, and not put Trump in a bad spot."
Broc Smith
"Attorney General Pam Bondi has stated she has “every intention to stay and serve,” despite widespread reports of internal turmoil surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
"The news follows reports of a heated meeting at the White House involving Bondi, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, FBI Director Kash Patel, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
"During the meeting, tensions reportedly escalated as Bongino and Patel were questioned about a NewsNation story. The article claimed that the FBI sought to release more Epstein-related documents but was blocked by the Department of Justice.
"Bongino denied leaking any information to the press, according to a source familiar with the meeting who spoke to CNN. However, he did not sign a statement included in the article defending the DOJ’s handling of the files.
"While sources say Bongino has not made a final decision, CNN reported he indicated he may resign if Bondi remains in her position.
"CNN also reported that Bongino did not show up to work on Friday, which has fueled speculation about his potential departure. As of Friday afternoon, no formal resignation had been submitted.
"The ongoing dispute has sparked mounting frustration inside and outside the White House.
"Critics have pointed to Bondi’s management of the Epstein documents as a source of controversy, the Conservative Brief reported.
"The files became a political flashpoint after a Department of Justice memo released this week concluded there was no murder, no client list, and no blackmail evidence involving Epstein. The findings have angered many of President Trump’s strongest supporters." . . .

Trump rips MAGA ‘boys’ and ‘gals’ in epic Epstein-gate rant: ‘Let Pam Bondi do her job’   "President urges supporters to unify, saying he doesn’t ‘like what’s happening’" . . .

How the Left Lost Its Collective Mind

 Victor Davis Hanson

. . . "Add it all up, and the impotent Left in all its orthodox and street manifestations has become unhingedAnd why not when it rightly fears that not just its power, but the very sources of its power, are in mortal danger?"

"Across the political Left, from orthodox Democrats to Antifa in the streets, the opposition to President Donald Trump has lost its collective mind.
"The Democrat House minority leader and now self-styled tough guy, New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, poses with a baseball bat to show how dangerous he is in opposing President Donald Trump’s budget bill.
"Jeffries harangued Congress for eight hours; New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker went on for 25—both to no effect. The Daily Signal depends on the support of readers like you.
"Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hit the rally trail in private jets to rail about oligarchs, omitting that the ultrarich are not only mostly leftists but also the funders of the Democratic Party.
"Sometimes the Democrats in Congress make bizarre videos, featuring profanity like f— or s—. On other occasions, they scream and interrupt Congress.
"Some representatives now confess that they’re being pressured by their constituents to take a bullet for the cause. The racialist Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett—sometimes playing the prep-school prima donna, sometimes modulating her accent to pass as the authentic inner-city activist—gains headlines for monotonously ranting about old white men.
"On left-wing social media, the assassin Luigi Mangione remains a heartthrob for murdering a health care executive, replacing the Tsarnaev brothers as the hot new left-wing killer.
"He, too, might soon end up with a cover photo on Rolling Stone.
"The left-wing internet mob grotesquely claims that children lost to the recent flash flood in Texas deserved their fate.
"They even advance three sick reasons for their ghoulishness. Texas Christians supported the MAGA agenda and thus met a just fate. Or, as red-state Texans, they were deservedly collateral damage to the Department of Government Efficiency’s bureaucratic reductions. Or, as climate denialists would say, the flash flood took righteous revenge on children for their supposed ignorance.
"Add it all up, and there is a sizable leftist “base” that is completely amoral." . . .

Why Dan Bongino should not resign over the Epstein matter

 M.B. Mathews

". . . " I am convinced that the names on the Epstein “client list” are not worth knowing about because their revelation would deeply hurt some innocent people."

"Dan Bongino is among the most honorable of men. I trust his judgment and his political analysis more than I trust most others. His integrity is beyond question. When he says he will do something, it gets done. When he says he will find things out, things will get found out. He is a Godly man of commitment, prayer, and gratitude, and knows from whence comes his faith and grace.

"But on the matter of the Epstein case, I hope and pray he will stand down so as not to jeopardize the Trump Train and MAGA. In American history, we now have the opportunity to change everything for the better. Trump is moving at breakneck speed and has already had one unfortunate defection—Musk. Another defection could hurt the entire country because of the erroneous perception by others that Trump cannot be trusted and that Bongino also flew the coop. But some things are more important than this.

"At this point, I am convinced that the names on the Epstein “client list” are not worth knowing about because their revelation would deeply hurt some innocent people. Insignificant people who were stupid enough to get entangled with Epstein without even violating the law would have families who would be hurt.

"Yes, Epstein and Ghislaine were monsters, but Epstein is dead, whether by his own hand or nefarious means, and Ghislaine is in jail. The story was sensational, and now it’s over. I want desperately for it to be over for the sake of America’s Trump Train. He is doing near-miraculous things for us and for the world, and this matter is not worth jeopardizing that.

"My question for Dan is this: Is it worth it to derail the entire MAGA train just to find out prurient facts about people who don’t matter? How is America helped by more information about these two cretins? These are questions Dan Bongino might do well to ponder, and if I could beg him to stand down, I would, for America’s sake.

"Dan is a pivotal cog in the MAGA wheel. Trump needs him, and Dan is a deep-thinking, sensitive man of honor. His honor will not be sullied should he decide to stay on. He is more valuable inside than out, and I don’t believe the Epstein matter is the hill to die on. I pray Dan will not make it so."

Two Prominent Republicans Rumored As Potential Replacement For Attorney General Pam Bondi

  100% Fed Up?

[Laura] Loomer has long been a controversial figure in the MAGA world, but has gained power in recent months as she has Trump’s ear. Loomer was widely reported to have been the driving force behind Trump removing National Security Advisor Mike Waltz in April, among other national security officials she urged him to purge.

"With the fallout from a reported rift between FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino and Attorney General Pam Bondi, rumors have circulated about potential replacements for Bondi if she’s fired or resigns from her post.

"Bongino reportedly is prepared to resign if Bondi remains in her position.

“ 'Source close to Dan Bongino tells me it’s either him or Pam Bondi, and that he won’t stay at FBI if she stays at DOJ,” Mary Margaret Olohan, White House correspondent for The Daily Wire, wrote on X." . . .  More here.

Bill O’Reilly Says President Trump Personally Told Him Why He’s Not Releasing The Epstein Files  "NEW: Bill O'Reilly says Trump told him rationale for not releasing Epstein files.

"I talked to President Trump, man to man, eye to eye, on St. Patrick's Day about this."

"He said, and I agree: There are a lot of names associated with Epstein that had nothing to do with Epstein's conduct. They maybe had lunch with him or maybe had some correspondence for one thing or another." "If that name gets out, those people are destroyed — because there's not going to be any context. The media doesn't care about context — so you can't do that."

"Dumb" CNN reporters and George Soros

Noisy Room

"The puppet master is, of course, George Soros, who should be deported. Will the administration take that step? There are many grounds to do so. His native Hungary would be happy to take him and put him on trial."

"A dumb blonde on CNN defended Mexican agitators flying Mexican flags during the LA riots by saying it was not illegal to fly a flag. She missed the point. California became Democratic after Republican Ronald Reagan was governor because of the influx of Mexicans into the state. That is why they fly Mexican flags. This is THEIR state now, but it is only one of many still to be reclaimed from the United States and made into the new Mexican country of Aztlan.
"At the same time, California under Governor Newsom became a Chinese colony. I think the two are related.
"The National Guard and a few hundred Marines go only so far. The Trump Administration needs a plan that moves beyond mass deportations.
"The movie “Reagan” shows the conservative governor and future two-term Republican president confronting unrest on college campuses such as Berkeley. The communist presence, however, extended far beyond the campuses. California Dynasty of Communism, a book by Karl Prussion, a former FBI informant in the Communist Party, has a history of what happened to the “Golden State.”
"He wrote, “To all communists in the United States, California is the pilot area. The Golden State has been chosen to be the model Soviet state.”
"In the performances of officials on all levels, from Mayor Karen Bass to Governor Gavin Newsom, the results of communism in California were exposed for all to see in the fires that devastated the region, and now the riots. These are deliberate policies.
"Under Newsom, California has been a major recipient of Chinese foreign direct investment. Bethany Allen-Ebrahimian, the China reporter for Axios, assembled the facts and figures about Chinese aid and trade with the United States, confirming that California is “hooked” on China. Of the top 10 states with the highest net trade with China. California is number one by far.
"The Los Angeles mayor is a well-known Marxist, having traveled to Cuba with the Weather Underground-sponsored Venceremos Brigades. Her “friend and mentor,” Oneil Marion Cannon, was a top member of the Communist Party USA for decades.
"The role of communists in California and, therefore, the national Democratic Party has been a national story, and this is why, back in 2019, I had predicted California Senator Kamala Harris would be the Democratic presidential candidate in 2020. What I didn’t foresee was that she would be the vice-presidential candidate and then replace Biden at the top of the ticket in 2024.
"The Bass mentor, Oneil Cannon, was described by the communist paper as a member of the Communist Party USA “who became the education director in the Southern California District, and a member of the Party’s Southern California and National Central Committees.” The paper continued, “Oneil Cannon counted among his friends many leaders and later elected officials of the African-American community. Paul Robeson was one of his valued friends; he would see him whenever he came to Los Angeles.”
"Regarding his role in California, it said he “was committed to electing Black and Latino representatives at all levels of government” and helped to elect Augustus “Gus” Hawkins, Tom Bradley, Ed Roybal, Diane Watson, Maxine Waters, and Karen Bass." . . .

Soros Funds Islamist Extremist Groups in U.S. and Abroad, European Media Reports   . . ."[OSF] is directly linked to factions known to operate as fronts or intermediaries for the Muslim Brotherhood—one of the world’s most influential Islamist groups—throughout the world, according to research cited in one European news story. The extremist organizations with ties to Soros include the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and the European Network Against Racism (ENAR). In Palestinian territories terrorist organizations such as Al-Haq and Al-Mezan, led by figures connected to the jihadist group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), have received millions of dollars from OSF. In Europe, extremist platforms such as FEMYSO (Forum of European Muslim Youth and Student Organizations) and the Collective Against Islamophobia in France (CCIF) have also received financial support from Soros. CCIF was dissolved by French authorities a few years ago for its extremist links, which include provoking acts of terrorism in France and abroad.

There Is No Such Thing As A Free Grocery Store

Issues & Insights

"Unlikely, on both counts. The 33-year-old is a typical know-it-all who actually knows nothing. His real-world experience is less than that of typical high school student from flyover country."

"Zohran Mamdani, winner of the Democratic Party’s New York City mayoral primary, is overflowing with Marxist ideas of how to govern that are so lousy that it’s hard to believe he got more than his own vote in Tuesday’s election. Each of them is horrendous, from free bus services to rent control to punitive taxes on those who create prosperity, but none are quite so laughable as his proposal to establish a chain of city-run grocery stores.

"Mamdani’s campaign literature – overflowing with empty leftist jargon – says if elected he “will create a network of city-owned grocery stores focused on keeping prices low, not making a profit.” The mission “is lower prices, not price gouging.”

"In an interview, the socialist Mamdani said he wants “a pilot program of one store in each borough that builds on the feasibility study that was done in Chicago,” which, incidentally, was never released and has been put on a dusty shelf where it will grow moldy.

"Apparently not even that city’s Marxist mayor believed he could make the idea work.

"It’s nearly impossible to imagine any adult would propose opening government-owned grocery stores. The concept might make for spirited debate in a junior high social studies class. In the real world, though, there are consequences.

“ 'If the city of New York is going socialist, I will definitely close, or sell, or move or franchise the Gristedes locations,” says John Catsimatidis, the CEO of the Gristedes chain, which “has been feeding New Yorkers for over 100 years.”

"This should alarm Mamdani. It won’t. He’ll be glad to get rid of a dirty profit-monger who doesn’t belong in his socialist utopia.

"Far from New York is Erie, Kansas, which became known as the “small town that saved its only grocery store — by buying it.” The city took over Stub’s Market in early 2021 after learning that it was to close.

"But it didn’t go well. The Wall Street Journal reported in October 2023 that it was “losing money almost every month.” City Clerk Jamie Janssen told the Journal that the goal was “to narrow losses to under $100,000 this year.” Losses had reached $132,000 the year before, even though volunteers stock the goods, some of which are donated by local businesses.

"Last year, after learning that “owning the store is difficult and costly for the city,” Erie sold the market. If a city of not even 1,000 residents can’t keep a small government-owned store from losing $100,000 a year, what will the losses add up to in New York City?" . . .More...

Democrats blew it; The most popular place in America today is Alligator Alcatraz.

 Don Surber

"[Ketanji Brown Jackson] is not helping Democrats because she is a reminder that the Democrats resist everything Trump does. Democrats refused to stand and applaud a young cancer victim at Trump’s State of the Union address. Bad move. President Trump is popular. None of them are." They didn't know that would happen?

"The most popular place in America today is Alligator Alcatraz. Not every swamp needs to be drained. If you are an illegal alien, don’t bother with Disney World. Take your family to Alligator Alcatraz. The flight from the airport at the end of the visit alone is worth the visit. Where you land, nobody knows!

"The mayor of LA and the governor of California are trying to block ICE from rounding up illegal aliens. Newsom sees DeSantis as the biggest block to the presidency.

"So Brylcreem Boy trash-talked Alligator Alcatraz: “They're not serious people. What an embarrassment. Imagine the rest of the world looking at that. $450M a year of wasted tax money for pure theater.”

" 'He spent twice that on a railroad bridge to nowhere.

"Mayor Karen went to an ICE raid on illegal aliens. She said, “They need to leave, and they need to leave NOW.”

"She didn’t mean the 11 million invaders. She meant ICE. California emptied its mental hospitals and sent the inmates to run City Hall and the state Capitol.

"ICE targeted MacArthur Park. Richard Harris hardest hit. I understand that locals now call it Meth Arthur Park. Democrats have surrendered LA—and many more cities—to Satan and his drugs." . . .

Mattel introduces new ‘type 1 diabetes’ Barbie

pixabay
Eric Utter  "Mattel recently announced the release of its first-ever Barbie doll with type 1 diabetes! (Complete with a continuous glucose monitor and a pink insulin pump.)

"Yay! Way cool! And so inclusive!
"Krista Berger, senior vice president of Barbie and global head of dolls, released a statement saying
Introducing a Barbie doll with type 1 diabetes marks an important step in our commitment to inclusivity and representation.  . . .

. . . "On this logic, I can imagine an anonymous source telling me that Mattel plans to come out with at least a baker’s dozen of other “inclusive” Barbies in the near future, including:

*Irritable Bowel Syndrome -- or IBS — Barbie. (Can’t wait for this one! Will she come complete with Depends™ and medication?)
*Montezuma’s Revenge Barbie. (Similar to IBS Barbie, but this one has just returned from Mexico…and boy is her sphincter tired!)
*Breast Cancer Barbie. (Historically not well-endowed, this Barbie will come with three different sizes of breast prostheses, including a DDD!)
*Colostomy Bag Barbie. (This barbie may be hiding this accessory from Ken. Or maybe not.)
*Transitioning Barbie. (How topical?! How inclusive?! How fun?! Rumor has it this Barbie will come with various snap-on/off parts from all genders! She/He/They will also come with assorted pronouns and an extra “Billy” name tag.)
*Lyme Disease Barbie. (This Barbie will feature a small “bullseye” ring on her arm and come with various ointments and medications.)
*Autistic Barbie. (This Barbie frequently loses focus and has trouble communicating. She cries a lot and often prefers to be by herself. She is often stressed out and doesn’t like changes in routine.)
*Tourette Syndrome Barbie. (This might be my favorite of all the new Barbies! She will often twitch, bark, and yell out “f*** Ken!” and other obscenities while in public places. It doesn’t get much more inclusive than this! Fun for the whole family!)
*Obesity epidemic Barbie. (So meaningful. An inspired attempt to counteract ‘fatphobia.’ Though she is as wide as she is tall, she is still beautiful, right?)
*Coronavirus Barbie. (A ‘legacy’ throwback, complete with N-95 mask. Must always stay at least 6 feet from Ken. Makes me nostalgic for ‘the good ol’ days!’)
*Methamphetamine Barbie. (This Barbie is so, like, today! She never eats and is always ‘amped up.’ Her eyes twitch and her teeth are decaying. Well done, Mattel!)
*Artificial-limb Barbie. (Granted, it is a bit hard to tell on a small plastic doll, but this Barbie proudly sports an artificial arm … and leg! But there is nothing artificial about her big heart!)
*Upper-class ultra-liberal Barbie, a.k.a., “Karen” Barbie. (This Barbie comes with dyed hair, a nose-ring, a Palestinian flag, and a “My Vagina Doesn’t Open For Trump Supporters” tee-shirt. She’s dumber than the plastic she’s made out of, but always thinks she’s right.)

How Universities Created Zohran Mamdani

"Our universities now produce educated barbarians who are uneducated on the atrocities of antisemitism."

 The American Spectator

"The results speak for themselves. When nearly half of young Americans cannot name Auschwitz, when basic historical facts disappear into academic fashions, we create a generation vulnerable to the very ideologies that once nearly destroyed civilization." . . .

Bowdoin College entrance sign surrounded by trees. (Billy Hathorn/CCA-SA 3.0/Wikimedia Commons)

"There is a particular species of ignorance that flourishes in the academy: one that mistakes moral posturing for moral reasoning, slogans for scholarship, and fashionable outrage for historical understanding. Zohran Mamdani, now the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City, represents the perfected specimen of this breed: the educated barbarian.
"Consider the extraordinary trajectory that led us here. A man who praised Hamas financiers in rap songs, who declared Israel guilty of genocide within days of October 7, who promises to arrest foreign leaders based on his interpretation of international law — this man now stands poised to govern America’s largest city. He is not some fringe radical clawing his way up from the margins. He is the product of Bowdoin College, one of our finest liberal arts institutions, where his worldview was carefully cultivated and his activism legitimized.
"
The pathology began early. At Bowdoin, Mamdani co-founded the college’s first Students for Justice in Palestine chapter, which
invited As’ad AbuKhalil, a professor who would later declare that America “made its bed” with the September 11 attacks and had “inflicted many 9/11s on people around the world.” This was not youthful indiscretion but institutional validation: a prestigious liberal arts college providing a platform for someone who celebrated George Habash, dubbed “the godfather of Middle East terrorism.”
"Mamdani’s education exemplifies a broader institutional failure. Recent surveys reveal the staggering scope of historical ignorance among young Americans. Nearly half of millennials cannot name a single concentration camp from the more than 40,000 that existed during the Holocaust. In New York — Mamdani’s own state — an astounding 58 percent cannot identify even one. When 63 percent of young Americans don’t know that six million Jews were murdered, and 36 percent believe the number was two million or fewer, we confront an educational catastrophe.
"Most disturbing of all: 19 percent of New York’s millennials believe Jews caused the Holocaust — the highest rate in the nation. Such ignorance doesn’t emerge spontaneously. It requires systematic cultivation by institutions that have abandoned their responsibility to transmit historical truth." . . .
. . ."The remedy is both simple and radical: mandatory Holocaust education in every university — not merely as a graduate program but as a required undergraduate course. Students should study the Wannsee Conference minutes, read Eichmann’s testimony, examine the railway schedules that carried millions to their deaths. They should understand that when Nazi officials spoke of the “final solution,” they meant exactly what they said." . . .Read more...

Schumer and the Democrats’ Antisemitism Problem

The American Spectator

"All of which is to say, Democrats have a decided antisemitism problem in their ranks. And with the election years of 2026 and 2028 directly ahead, stay tuned for a potentially pitched internal battle over the issue."

"The Wall Street Journal gets it.

"Over there on the WSJ editorial page, the paper’s editors have penned a sharply observant piece headlined: “Chuck Schumer’s Mamdani Test: Will the New York Senator abandon his life-long convictions?”

"In which New York’s U.S. senator — the Senate’s Democratic Leader, no less — is taken to task for playing cutesy with Zohran Mamdani, the Democrats’ recent and apparent choice for mayor of New York.

"A recent arrival on the national stage, Mamdani has quickly been revealed not simply as a Communist/Socialist sympathizer but someone with a decided record of antisemitism.

"Among other things, the WSJ noted: “Mr. Mamdani is a socialist who spoke as an Assemblyman of ‘seizing the means of production’ and blamed Israel, not Hamas, on Oct. 8, 2023.”

"Even more to the point, the WSJ notes that Senator Schumer has recently authored a book with this title: Antisemitism in America: A Warning.

"As it happens, I bought the Schumer book when it came out — before Mamdani was even on the political horizon. And obviously, Schumer wrote his book well before Mamdani was nominated by his fellow New York Democrats.

"The fact of Mamdani’s rise after the Schumer book appeared ironically makes Schumer’s book even more relevant, with a look back at exactly what Schumer had to say before he was suddenly confronted with an antisemitic mayoral nominee from his own hometown, seriously relevant indeed.

"With that in mind, follow along as I note here some of what Schumer has had to say about antisemitism — all of it pre-Mamdani. For example, Schumer writes:

“For the first time in my life, widespread antisemitism is a serious problem in America, and it’s getting worse.”

“I believe it is my duty to alert our country to the rising tide of antisemitism, to clarify how it can be identified and how it can be stopped.”

“In other words, antisemitism is a long-enduring form of racism, one of the world’s oldest and most powerful types …. To some antisemitism almost defies explanation. But the best explanation is the simplest one.”

“Antisemitism means hating Jewish people and all things Jewish.”

“Antisemitism just is. Has been. Will always be.”

"Schumer rolls on. And yes, some readers will roll their eyes at a senator going on and on as United States senators of all stripes are prone to do." . . .
